Steranian
The game started out in 1987 as a scrapped Namco arcade title called Steranian. Development involved two staff, Ryoichi Okubo and Yukio Takahashi.
After Tomcat System (spun-off from Namco staff) was formed, Okubo and Takahashi would return to the game under the direction of Tsunekazu Ishihara and Takashi Watanabe from Ape (now Creatures, Inc.). Sanrio's video game subsidiary Character Soft joined as the producer and licensing for the Sanrio characters.
