A test audience was assembled for the fourth time.[1]

On May 18th, a trial version of the game was exhibited at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles.[1]

On June 22nd, a playable demo of the game was created that made its way into the hands of the general public in October, when it was included on a disk packaged with Issue 97 of the Official PlayStation Magazine.

The alpha version of the game was completed.[1]

On July 8th, another playable demo of the game was created.
September
September marked the development deadline for the Japanese and North American versions of the game, and the beta version of the game was completed.[1]
On the 16th, a test play version of the game was exhibited at the Tokyo Game Show.[1]
October
On October 8th, a prototype of the game that came to be known as the Preview Version was created. Found on a disk titled "Shadow of the Colossus preview code 8/17/05", it was made available to fans after being purchased on eBay around August, 2009.
