This page details prerelease information and/or media for Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure (Wii).

After Helios Interactive's Spyro's Kingdom was cancelled, Toys for Bob took control of the project.

Footage of the original prototype was uploaded to Youtube in October 2021. The logo was updated, and featured an early look at the Skylanders version of Spyro.

Four characters were playable:

  • Fire Dragon, a red Spyro-like dragon (whose model actually remains in the file of Giants) who could fly
  • Cyclops Snail, a blue, one eyed goo creature who would eventually become Zap, that could travel over water
  • Rock Dragon, the early version of Bash
  • Bomb Troll, a character that would make it into the final as an enemy instead (and whose model also remains in the file of Giants under the name of "Sniper"), and eventually become replaced with Boomer

Two items were also programmed:

  • Lantern, which helped to illuminate dark areas
  • Potion of Speed, which increased the speed of the Skylander

The only playable level consists of a grassy and rocky domain with a water area, a small castle, followed by a second grass area where you meet the final boss - a Stone Golem. After defeating it, the fairy would apparently reward you with treasure and your stats are shown on the screen. The then asks you to reset, so that you can travel to Spyro's Village (an area that doesn't exist anywhere in the final game). If you attempt to continue, the game will fling out humorous messages urging you to give up trying to proceed. Should you continue, the messages will eventually end, and you can face the boss.

It's unknown if defeating the boss rewards you with anything, as Rock Dragon is defeated at this point by a hoard of chompies, and the game begins to lag and models distort as more and more are generated, even resulting in the boss and static chompies to enter their T-pose.
