WarioWare: Get It Together! was first announced on June 15, 2021 during the E3 Nintendo Direct.
Development Timeline
2018
- December - In an interview with GameInformer, Goro Abe explains that the future of the WarioWare series would be contingent on the reception of WarioWare Gold, which was released for the Nintendo 3DS after the Switch's launch. He also rules out porting the game to the platform, stating it would "come with a number of issues" and that it would be difficult to reproduce "the same sense of fun".
2021
- June 2 - Nintendo of America sends out a survey asking how likely users would buy the next WarioWare game if it was $49.99. Other surveys asked the same question but with the price as $39.99.
- June 15 - Game is revealed in the E3 2021 Nintendo Direct, with the first gameplay footage.
- August 19 - A demo version of the game is released on Nintendo eShop.
- September 10 - Game is released worldwide. In the US, the retail/eShop price is $49.99.
- November 15 - Nintendo of America's official YouTube channel releases a Spanish version of Penny's Song.

Compared to the final game, there was a sweat mark on the right of Wario's face, which is absent in the final version. Additionally, he was moved slightly lower (most notably his belt buckle) and more lighting was added.
Unused Song
On November 15, 2021, Nintendo released a video of a Spanish version of Penny's Song. This was likely cut due to time constraints about localizing Penny's Song into other languages into the game.
