Konami Computer Software Catalog (October 1984)
Yie Ar Kung-Fu in the October 1984 issue of Konami Computer Software Catalog is shown with a screenshot that has a wildly different design from the retail version. Health indicators for the player and opponent are located at the bottom and represented by red blocks instead of blue bars. The background for the fighting area is also completely different from the final game.
This same screenshot is also available in the English-language July 1985 edition of Konami Computer Software Catalog. However, the February 1985 edition of Konami Computer Software Catalog published in Japan replaces this early screenshot with a screenshot taken from the final version instead.
