Localization Prototypes
Four localization prototypes for Beyond Oasis were released as part of drx's massive February 23rd, 2008 prototype dump:
- The October 4th prototype is the earliest, dated six weeks before the final build.
- The October 17th prototype fixes a few typos and inconsistencies in the script.
- NOTE: Based on the script, the European version was built in-between the October 17th prototype and...
- ...The November 1st prototype, which introduces some line changes that aren't in the European version (See the main page for details).
- The November 15th prototype is identical to the final version and is only included here to mark when the localization was finished.

- The October 4th prototype keeps the international name, "The Story of Thor." The Japanese subtitle has been erased, and the "PRESS START BUTTON" text was moved up to fill space.
- The October 17th build is still "The Story of Thor," but the copyright year has been updated.
- The November 1st build is the first to feature the US title screen.
- The final build updates the copyright information to include a trademark symbol and places the composer's copyright on its own line.

Both sorcerers drew special powers from their magical Armlets. Reharl used his Gold Armlet to govern the spirits.
Notes "Spirits" is mispelled in the October 4th version of the prologue. |

I trust the soldiers guarding the castle. Please be careful, brother. |
Ali, please go and read the books hidden in the back room before you go. I'm sure they will help you.
Notes Line completely changed to direct the players to read the combat books in the back. |

Show me your power, Gold Armlet. You must defeat my followers to gain access to the Warp Device! |
Show me your power, Gold Armlet. You must defeat my minions to gain access to the Warp Device!
Notes This is Silver Armlet's text before plunging Ali into the Fortress's boss arena. Really, neither "followers" or "minions" is correct here. |

I pledge my allegiance to you, Gold Armlet. You may summon me from your own refection. |
I pledge my allegiance to you, Gold Armlet. You may summon me from your own reflection.
Notes There's a typo in Shade's introduction text in the earlier prototype. |

"Move Underground" Tap A Button twice to call Bow to where Ali is standing. Bow moves underground silently. |
"Move Underground" Tap Button A twice to call Bow to where Ali is standing. Bow moves underground silently.
Notes Every other instruction uses "Button A" except for this line, probably because "Tap A Button" is potentially ambiguous. |

Prince Ali, we will get toe the cave as soon as we can. |
Prince Ali, we will get to the cave as soon as we can.
Notes Dialogue that soldiers in the castle say after the princess is kidnapped. Simple typo fix here. |

I am proud to have both fought for you and beside you. You shall be rememered forever. |
I am proud to have both fought for you and beside you. You shall be remembered forever.
Notes Shade's last line in the October 4th prototype is tainted by a typo. |

Ali, tell this to everyone. Agito and the his Silver Armlet minion have been destroyed forever. They will never endanger Oasis again. |
Ali, tell this to everyone. Agito and the Silver Armlet minion have been destroyed forever. They will never endanger Oasis again.
Notes Another mistake in the ending dialogue - can't choose between "his" or "the"? Why not have both? |

- In the Japanese version and the October 4th prototype, there are instructions on how to view the Best 5 Players screen from the title screen. These instructions were removed starting in the October 17th build.
- One last change: "BOW CALL" keeps its Japanese name, "BAW CALL", in the October 4th prototype.
