This page details one or more prototype versions of Every Extend Extra (PlayStation Portable).

A US localization prototype of Every Extend Extra was acquired and released by MobCat on October 6, 2021. On the disc, it is labeled as a Test Sample version. It is dated July 18, 2006, which is a little over a month before the final US build date.

Differences

Menus

  • The "START BUTTON" text seen in the title screen was originally capitalized as "START button".

Gameplay

  • The placement of the UI elements still matches the Japanese version.
  • The "READY" text seen before fighting a boss is still fully capitalized, much like the Japanese version.

  • The "PRESS ANY BUTTON" prompt seen when clearing a level was originally written as "press any buttons". This is also different from the Japanese version, which has the text capitalized as "press any button".

Unused Graphics

While the game grabs graphics from the folder CDIMAGE\FILE0\USA, the root of FILE0 contains earlier versions of these graphics. They are dated June 26, 2006, while the used ones are dated July 14.

These early graphics mainly come from the Japanese version of the game, though some gameplay UI graphics (e.g. "GET QUICKEN" to "QUICKEN") already match those seen in this prototype, and, to a greater extent, the final American release.

Very Early Leftover

The file LOGO_CUT.TPK (both used and unused variations) contains an unused graphic, labeled as demo_selectE, which is exclusive to this prototype. It depicts a very early, barren version of the title screen meant for the game's localizations.
