This game is defunct. Do note the game no longer works at all without modifications. This is most likely due to the game's servers being shut down. As a result, further official developments with the game are unlikely to happen.

This article has just been started and needs the article basics added. Help us out and add them.

To do: Look through the text assets, they can have early names for various items and dialogue. Look for more differences between v0.7.0 and v0.7.1 Upload any audio differences. Some of Liyue's music is not orchestrated yet, and some characters have different lines or voice actors in English. Channel with playthroughs of CBT1 and 2 CBT2 OST (with original music filenames)

Closed Beta Test 2, or CBT2 for short, is the second version of Genshin Impact given out to a limited amount of testers. The beta was scheduled to last for about three weeks from March 18, 2020, to April 7, 2020. However, it was extended for an additional week, ending on April 13, 2020.

This version, while more closely resembling the official release, still has many different and unused assets. It can be played in almost its entirety thanks to its original server binaries being leaked (only its pathfinding server resources for improving enemy/NPC AI are missing), and a server emulator is available that provides partial functionality.

Revisional Differences

There are two versions of CBT2 out in the wild: v0.7.0 and v0.7.1. They seem very similar, but do exhibit minor changes between each other.

The title screen displays simpler version information and "CONFIDENTIAL. DO NOT MAKE AVAILABLE TO ANY THIRD PARTIES." at the bottom of the screen in v0.7.0.

The still images of the Traveler fishing up Paimon in the intro take place in a different location and have a narrower aspect ratio in v0.7.0. These images were finalized in v0.7.1.

Audio Differences

CBT2 was the first version to introduce English and Korean options for voice-overs. Some characters in the English dub have alternate lines, or even different voice actors altogether.

Music

A night-time variant of A Familiar Sight and Leisure that plays while traversing from the Dawn Winery to Liyue. This track was cut after CBT3.

Graphical Differences

To do: Move to a subpage once this section is more fleshed out. Some icons (such as Primogems) are the same as they were in CBT1.
