This is a sub-page of Proto:Jurassic Park: Trespasser/PC Gamer Preview Prototype.

Plantation House was probably the earliest level to be scrapped (aside from shores which doesn't have any proof of actually existing beyond the 1997 walkthrough anyway.) The level seems quite complete compared to some of the other levels in this build.

Starting Off

The level starts off with a duplicate of the ledge that was jumped off in Jungle Road behind Anne. Anne is on a cliff overlooking a valley below. In the valley below, there is a Parasaurolophus and a Triceratops in clear view. Next to Anne on the cliff is an assortment of construction equipment from the work on the Monorail.

Traveling Through the Valley Area

When the player descends to the valley below the music track MUSIC – REVEAL OF DINO PLAIN will play.

Parasaurolophus

The Parasaurolophus won't bother the player and will just wander around. It is impossible to damage as it completely lacks collision data (easy to see if B key is pressed). Like the Parasaurolophus found in Build 96's InGen Town, this one has a single low resolution texture.

Triceratops

The Triceratops will chase the player in an attempt to ram them though it won't do much damage, if any, as all the dinosaurs have absurdly low damage values in this build. The animation scripts and AI for the Triceratops are notably off in this build and the Triceratops will often ram into things causing its body to mess up badly.

Raptors

Close to the Parasaurolophus' starting location, there is a path that eventually spills into a small pond. Also two Velociraptors stand on the side of this road just before this pond and attempt to attack the player, but obviously it won't do any damage. These are presumably either the prototype tribe B raptors as the Tribe A raptors used the traditional colors of the Raptors from the second film, even in prototype screenshots or they're female raptors. There's indications early on that DWI wanted to have dinosaurs with gender differences. Notably both Green T-Rexes in this build are identified as M and F in their object IDs. Also worth noting, all the dinosaurs in this level with mouth joints seem to have issues with their lower jaw. It will constantly jitter open and closed for some reason.

Crate Puzzle

Don't even bother trying to do this crate puzzle.
Heading further from the pond and Raptors there is a large area up ahead. Going through this area will eventually lead to a pile of rocks with crates on top of them. Since Anne is literally able to climb any slope in this build she can completely bypass this puzzle which doesn't seem to work right in this build anyway.

By now it should be considered a norm to see floating objects in Trespasser.
At the top of this area is a cement mixer floating in the area, indicating a possible slight terrain height change.

The Clearing

An open clearing.
After the crate puzzle area, Anne will reach a large clearing. This clearing is actually mentioned in the 1997 walkthrough, though the directions of certain things mentioned seem a bit different from the walkthrough. Upon reaching this clearing, the music track MUSIC – ALBERT BOOMS will play.

Trespcgphclearingraptors.png
Two raptors, as described in the walkthrough, stand here, however it seems their scripting is incomplete as they cannot move and only their tails wag.

Further down are remnants of the old building mentioned in the walkthrough as well as the stone walls and gate remnants.

Be careful touching these, they might send you into orbit.
Also worth noting are remnants of what appear to be an old wagon.

Construction Site

The construction site mentioned in the walkthrough is present. The monorail ends here of course. A construction trailer can be found here and inside is an odd case, presumably holding building plans, and a small monitor. However, under it is a Colt, one of only three found in the prototype. It doesn't have any sound effects and makes beeping noises when it fires. A small garbage can of little interest can be found nearby as well.

If one keeps going, they'll eventually reach a lone weapons cabinet. Inside is a Lindstrat pistol with five shots. Around this area is where the landslide blocking the town should be but there's not actually anything here that can be seen.

Trespcgphconstructionsite7.png
On the roof of the thing across from the trailer, there appears to be a metal bar. There is also a sledge hammer on a crate nearby.

Hunters' Camp and Riverbed

If one keeps going in what is presumed West as it would be in the walkthrough, eventually they'll reach a riverbed.

"The hunters landed on May 13th, 1997, deep in the island’s southwest. Most of them had worked at my African parks for years. They never stood a chance."
Following the riverbed south will eventually lead to a lonely area with rocks inside of a pool of water. The music track, MUSIC – HUNTERS CAMP will play. Unlike the scene described in the walkthrough, there's almost nothing here. There are however tent poles in the level's basement that seem to go unused which are probably related to it as the 1997 walkthrough would suggest.

Sorry, the burnt crates aren't in this screenshot.
A little bit further down there are a few vehicles and interestingly enough, the burnt crates found in the Beach level in the final. Nearby is a raptor that will try to attack Anne but it makes little difference since it does almost no damage. Just a little ways ahead is a small Jeep and lurking on the other side of it is...

That car was added in this build according to the text file this build came with.
The Green T-Rex! It should be noted that this probably isn't the same model showcased in various pre-release screenshots. In fact, it seems to be an almost finalized lower poly model. Some of the animations are a little different but overall it's the same.

Also worth noting is that you can see the burnt crates in this screenshot!
Like the Parasaurolophus found earlier in the level, this Rex has a very low resolution texture. In fact, it actually looks worse than the Para's. For whatever reason, the beautiful textures seen in the pre-release screenshots were not used and instead a single texture was used. (Just like the Para).

It may look exciting but it's not really.
Going further up the riverbed is another Triceratops. It is possible to get this Triceratops to fight the T-Rex but the fight's not nearly as exciting as it would be in the final and the Rex will most likely pursue the player along with the Triceratops.

"Then walked northward, until the path appears."
The Plantation House can be seen to the player's right from here.

If one decides to head away from the river bed and go past the Plantation House, they may stumble upon a trench. Perhaps this trench is one of the ones talked about in the 1997 walkthrough that was part of the Hunters' Camp. It seems a little far from that location however. It turns out this trench actually overlaps the area that SHOULD be the early portions of Industrial Jungle, but it bears almost no similarity.

Plantation House

Finally, the level's namesake location. As one would expect, the exterior looks very similar to the one found in the final's Jungle Road. Like in Build 96, parts of the house can be shot off. Sadly, there does not seem to be an Albertosaurus anywhere in this or the E3 build to attack while the player is inside, leaving the question if it was even made yet. Like with Jungle Road, the music track MUSIC – PH plays when the house is approached.

Around the exterior are objects that were cut from the final. Notably an old chair. In this same area, a table is also nearby. Bumping into this table will cause it to fall apart. The stables are still present with the only notable difference being the glitchy doors. The Servant's quarters also exist as well but they have a bed. Something that was axed from the house in the final.

Maybe a hunter stopped to rest and left his stuff... or became a snack.
An AK-47 (drum magazine variant) and helmet lay outside.

Yeah... probably not the best idea to prop a door shut with a table in a buggy game engine like this.
The door to the Plantation House won't easily open. Pushing it open reveals that a table was placed in the way. Because of how the collision in this build works, things ranging from the game crashing, falling through the ground, or even floating away may happen in or around the Plantation House. Shooting the door open with the AK-47 has some rather humorous results such as the table flying and getting stuck inside one of the walls of the house.

Uh oh... that can't be good...
In fact, if the Tyrannosaurus and/or Triceratops follow the player up here, there's a good chance the collision in the area will make them float away too.

Trespcgsecretdoor.png
Inside the interior is about the same as the final, however there are a few differences. The secret compartment is here and it works though the door may clip through the wall or just behave oddly in general. Inside unlike the final version found in Jungle Road, there are no weapons, instead there are three gold bricks as opposed to just the one in the final version found in Jungle Road.

Trespcgpboard.png
At the bottom of the stairs is a piece of wood probably from the ceiling rafters on the floor above. This isn't found in the final here.

Upstairs nothing significant can be found other than a Benelli Shotgun in the small room that's cut off by a hole in the floor. It's notably much harder to get to the ledge than it is in the final.

Cathy's Beach

Trespcgcathy1.png
Eventually, traveling further down the riverbed will lead the player to a large beach. Upon entering the area, a familiar track will play. The music track MUSIC – BEACH AMBIENT will play with the voice-overs intact. That is right, this is Cathy's Beach in its true iteration rather than the watered down version in the final's Jungle Road.

Trespcgcathy2.png
Heading back up from the riverbed there is a path that curves off. Heading this way will eventually lead to a fork.

Trespcgcathy3.png
The road to the right just leads into the water for some reason.

Trespcgcathy4.pngMommy, Daddy! You've got to come see this! I found something!
The one on the left will lead to the true beach from the film, complete with tables, dishes, and a lone raptor.

Trespcgcathy7.png
The Raptor lacks any scripting for behavior so it just stands idle wagging its tail.

Trespcgcathy6.png
Heading further will eventually lead to the edge of a beach. As for where the level itself ends, it was meant to end between the Plantation House and the Hunters' Camp.
