Proto:Kirby & the Amazing Mirror/Audio Differences
This is a sub-page of Proto:Kirby & the Amazing Mirror.
The Demo has most of the final game's music hidden inside its data. Most of them have differences and details not present in the final game.
Used in the Demo
This section documents music that's heard during regular gameplay in the Demo.
Title Screen
Prototype | Final |
---|---|
The Title Screen's theme has a quieter bass in the final version.
Central Circle
Prototype | Final |
---|---|
Central Circle's theme uses a softer bass in the final game. The plucked strings instrument heard backing the song is completely absent from the Demo's version of the tune.
Forest/Nature Area
Prototype | Final |
---|---|
The theme "Forest/Nature Area" uses slightly different mixing in the final game. The bass is also louder in the Demo.
Kirby Dance
Prototype | Final |
---|---|
The Demo uses Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land's arrangement of the Kirby Dance. Same thing happens with the short version.
Unused in the Demo
This section documents music not heard during regular gameplay in the Demo but can still be found on the game's data.
Collection Room
Prototype | Final |
---|---|
The Collection Room's theme uses softer percussion in the final release.
Dark Meta Knight Intro Theme
Prototype | Final |
---|---|
Dark Meta Knight's theme when attacking Kirby in the intro cut-scene has a different and longer intro in the final game. Its loop point is also shorter in the prototype.
Beginning Area
Prototype | Final |
---|---|
For the beginning area, the prototype uses Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land's arrangement of Vegetable Valley. The final game instead uses a remix of "Forest/Nature Area".
Ruins Area
Prototype | Final |
---|---|
The prototype's version of the theme "Ruins Area" is lacking some percussion and various intruments throughout the song, most notable near the beginning of it.
Space Area
Prototype | Final |
---|---|
The theme "Space Area" went through the most changes. Aside from being more messy and lacking certain instruments, it's also missing an important synth in the beginning of the bridge and at the end of the song in the Demo. The final game also changes the chimes in the bridge of the song.
Dark Meta Knight Battle
Prototype | Final |
---|---|
Dark Meta Knight's vocal synths and trumpets do not sound very good in the prototype, to say the least... Otherwise, they're pretty similar.
Wave Ride Race Prelude
Prototype | Final |
---|---|
The Demo uses Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land's version of the Race Prelude theme.
Sound Effects
Proto | |
---|---|
Final |
The sound that plays when encountering Shadow Kirby is different.
Miscellaneous
- When Kirby inhales an enemy, a small sound from the previous game plays. This sound isn't used in the final game.
- When copying an ability, the "ability get" sound effect plays right away alongside the "gulp" sound. In the final game, the gulping noise plays first, followed then by the "ability get" jingle.
- The Fire and Spark ability's sounds can be interrupted by certain other sound effects in the Demo. They cannot be interrupted in the final game.
- Pausing doesn't have a sound effect in the prototype.
- The "enter door" sound seems to play twice in quick succession in the Demo, as opposed to once in the final game.
- The ability roulette doesn't have the beeping sound effect in the Demo.
- After beating King Golem, Central Circle's theme starts playing in the Demo. In the final game, the classic Goal Game and stage clear theme from previous Kirby games starts playing.
