Proto:Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals/Gruberik

From The Cutting Room Floor
Jump to: navigation, search
This is a sub-page of Proto:Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals.

It seems that the prototype kept several conventions of the Lufia 1 Ancient Cave as placeholders.

Gruberik

Note: The prototype uses 「幻の宝」which means "Illusory Treasure" or "Phantom Treasure". Both the final Japanese version and the North American translation use "Iris Treasure" instead.

Dialogue with NPCs outside:

  • Woman in green dress
Every explorer who comes to this town
comes with a dream to fulfill.
I wonder if you're one too?
  • Man with blue hair near entrance
There are many strong monsters in the Ancient Cave.
If you go there, take utmost care not to get hurt.
  • Old man
When I was young, I always used to run around in the Ancient Cave.
I made it all the way down to the 20th level once!

Dialogue with NPCs inside buildings:

  • Shopkeeper
Japanese English

make sure you have reliable equipment.

  • Man blocking the stairs
Japanese English

I'll go do my patrol duties if you pay me 50 Gold.
How about it?

(man walks away, you can now access the staircase)
(selected second option)
(selected second option)
Really?
If you change your mind, come back whenever.
(talk again, after you've paid 50 the gold)
(talk again, after you've paid 50 the gold)
Please go on through.

It should be noted that Lufia 1 had a mechanic where you paid 50 Gold to enter the assignment building. It seems Lufia 2 also had assignments planned in this respect.

Man behind counter:

As you descend in the Ancient Cave, there will be
a Phantom Treasure located on every 10th floor.
That's the reason why treasure hunters go there
to get them, they want to be known as the best.
By the way, you'll need a key to enter the Ancient Cave.
It doesn't look like you have one.

The Ancient Cave is a mysterious and dangerous place.
Please take care.
  • Bunny girl

In the Ancient Cave, you won't be able to descend to a floor number
that's higher than the level of the leader of your party.
According to your current level,
you won't be able to go further than the Xth level.
  • Old man
Huh, you young people.
Can you really find the Ancient Cave's Phantom Treasures?

B2 level:

  • Bunny girl
Prototype Prototype translation Retail JP Retail NA
This is the place where the Phantom Treasures will be placed.
But none of them have been found yet.
It's so sad.
All the Iris Treasures
are to be displayed here,
but, sad to say, there
are none here yet.

There's no inventory item checks when talking to the bunny girl in the prototype; the "no treasures found" message is the only dialogue she has.
