Early Classic Creative refers to several builds of Minecraft dating from May 16, 2009 to May 28, 2009.

Gameplay Differences

The way blocks and items listed in creative mode are different. This build, along with much later builds like Beta 1.8 lists all the items at once. Later versions changes this to have them in different catalogues. Bedrock also can't be selected.

  • This is the first version to include Coal Ore, Iron Ore and Gold Ore, though the actual material hasn't been added yet. Gold Ore also spawns at higher elevations.
  • A glitch occurring at this time allowed players to raise the height of a fluid block by placing sand over it. The sand would stay suspended in mid-air until it was broken. When broken, a fluid block corresponding to the type below the sand would appear where the block was. The suspended fluid block would remain immobile until a block was placed next to it, causing a flood.
  • A debug display include FPS and Chunk updates was added.
