This prototype was stored on a backup disc of Genesis/Mega Drive ROMs by Sega of America. It appears to just be a localization prototype.

Some minor grammatical changes were made to the introductory text scroll.

The intro that plays after selecting "GAME START" prematurely ends before the rest of the text ("TO AZUCHI CASTLE!") can be displayed. It may be related to borrowing code from the Japanese version, where the Japanese sentence ends around the same spot.

Round 2

The creepy baby-like enemies haven't had their skin tone changed yet for the English version.

Ending

A missing "TO" was added between "WISH" and "ACKNOWLEDGE". The text in the Japanese ending is identical to the final release.

Credits

The staff roll is the same in both the Japanese and English versions; the three developers who changed their pseudonyms hadn't changed them yet.
