Outside Area

  • Since he already appeared in the Savannah, the Sorcerer doesn't appear here.
  • Reading Marvin's message board will cause the game to soft lock.
  • The cave in this area shows the shadow realm enemies in both real and shadow real. Also, the chest is there for the taking (whereas in the final it... Doesn't appear, for some reason, even after defeating the enemies here).

  • There are less enemies here in the real world.
  • There's a gate blocking the iron chest in the prototype, requiring you to phase into the shadow realm. It's been removed for the final.
    • The warp pad and iron chest were moved a little, and the iron chest was made to face Spyro instead of the player.

Main Area

  • The shade effects are a little different.
  • Spyro can clip through the very top of the level.

  • Two Long Legs are initially absent from Zoe (they fall down when you get to her), and there's a Periscope in place of a third Long Legs.
    • The warp pad can also be found next to Zoe.

  • On the platform with the hidden cave, Spyro can't be elevated properly over the patch, but he can walk over it. In the final, this is reversed.
  • The word Kerfuffle is highlighted only. In the final, "plant" is highlighted as well.
  • The cutscene won't end until Spyro agrees to find the Kerfuffle Leaves.
  • If Spyro says no, Zoe's second line is spoken by Aqua instead.
  • Zoe has more text errors at the end.
  • After accepting the quest, Zoe repeats her last line of dialogue whenever you phase back to the real world from the shadow realm. She'll repeat it 5 times.

Spyro, you must have a nose for kerfuffle! Only 1 more leaf ... Spyro, you must have a nose for kerfuffle! Only 1 more leaf ... Hey, I saw one of those sneaky bears around here last week. Maybe he took one.

...But Marvin doesn't sell it. It's currently unknown where the final leaf is, or if it has even been put in.

  • There is, however, a possibility that lighting up the tiki torches on this platform was supposed to reveal a treasure chest, since they've been removed in the final version. Unfortunately, nothing spawns after lighting them.

  • Zoe's Wand can be found on a platform below, but it's lacking the transparency.
