Notes

The messages in the Overdump can be found starting at 0x10DFEE0.

Like the final game, the prototype uses a variant of Shift-JIS. However, while the final game uses 000B XXXX as a control code to control color, this build uses 0013 XXXX.

0004 XXXX and 0012 XXXX are also used as control codes, but their functions are currently unknown.

While the Overdump has much less text, the overall order of the messages is similar to the final game.

Keep in mind that, at the time these messages were written, B was the action button, while A was for items.

21	ゲーム中にＳＴＡＲＴをおすと、 アイテム画面になります。 ３Ｄスティックでカーソルを 画面左右のはしまで移動させるか、 Ｚ、Ｒでモードが切替ります。	Press START during the game to open the Items Screen. Move the cursor to the left or right edge of the screen with the Control Stick, or press Z or R to change modes.
22	Ｃアイテム画面はＣの左・右・下に 装備して使うアイテムを 選択できます。 ３Ｄスティックでカーソルを移動し セットしたいＣボタンをおすと、 装備できます。	On the C-Items Screen, you can select items to equip and use on C-Left, C-Right, or C-Down. Move the cursor with the Control Stick to equip an item, or press the C Button you want to set it to.
23	装備アイテム画面は、 装備するだけで効果があるアイテム を選択できます。 剣・盾・服・くつのもちかえは ３Ｄスティックでカーソルを移動し Ａボタンで決定します。	The Equipment Items Screen lets you select items that have a certain effect when equipped. Use the Control Stick to move the cursor to a sword, shield, tunic, or boots, then press the A Button to decide.

28	ナビィは敵を見つけると、 その敵の頭上へ飛んでいきます。 Ｚを押すとリンクはその敵を注目。 Ｚボタンを押しつづけていれば、 リンクはそ敵を中心に移動します。 再びＺを押せば、 ナビィは別の敵へ飛んでいきます。	When Navi sees an enemy, she'll start flying over their head. Press Z and Link will target that enemy. Hold down the Z Button to center Link's movement on the foe. Press Z again, and Navi will start flying over a different enemy.
29	Ｃの上を押すと、３Ｄスティックで 周囲を見回すことができます。	Press C-Up and use the Control Stick to look around.
30	Ｒボタンを押しているあいだは、 リンクは防御の姿勢をとります。 防御中Ａを押すと攻撃ができます。	Link will assume a defensive stance for as long as the R Button is held. Press A while defending to attack.
31	Ａを押すと剣で攻撃ができます。 Ａを一定時間押し続け離すと、 ため斬りができます。 Ｂで剣をさやにしまいます。	Press A to attack with your sword. Hold down A for long enough and release it for a charged slash. Press B to return your sword to its scabbard.

33	Ｚボタンを押している間は Ｂアイコンは「ジャンプ」になり、 Ｂボタンでジャンプできます。 ジャンプ中にＡでを押すと、 ジャンプ斬りができます。	While holding down the Z Button the B icon will change to "Jump", and you can press the B Button to jump. While jumping, press A to do a jump slash.
34	Ｚで誰かに注目している時、 Ｂアイコンは「しゃべる」になり、 Ｂでその人と会話ができます。 会話する相手がいないと アイコンは「ナビィ」になり、 ナビィと会話できます。	While targeting someone with Z, the B Icon will change to "Talk", letting you strike up a conversation with B. If you have no conversation partner, the Icon will read "Navi", allowing you to talk with Navi.
35	リンクが物に接した時、 アイコンが「つかむ」になれば Ｂを押すとそれをつかみます。 つかんだままの状態で ３Ｄスティックを使って 押したり引いたりできます。	When Link is next to an object, if the Icon reads "Grab", you can press B to grab hold of it. While grabbing the object, use the Control Stick to push or pull it.
36	リンクが物に接した時、 アイコンが「チェック」になれば Ｂでそれをしらべられます。	If Link is next to an object and the Icon changes to "Check", you can press B to examine it.
37	リンクが持てる物に接すると、 アイコンが「つかむ」になり、 Ｂを押すと、それを持ち上げます。 リンクが物を持ち上げると、 アイコンは「おく」になり、 もう一度Ｂで、足元へおきます。 物を持ったまま走ると、 アイコンは「なげる」になり、 もう一度Ｂで、それを投げます。	When Link is next to an object he can pick up, the Icon will change to "Grab", letting you press the B to lift it up. While Link is carrying it, the Icon will change to "Place", and you can press B again to set it down at your feet. While running with the object in your hands, the Icon will change to "Throw", letting you press B again to toss it away.
38	リンクがはしごに接すると、 アイコンは「おりる」になり、 ３Ｄスティック上下で、はしごを 昇ったり、降りたりできます。 途中でＢを押すと、飛び降ります。	When Link is next to a ladder, the Icon will read "Go Down", and you can move the Control Stick up or down to ascend or descend. Press B while on the ladder to jump down.
39	ガケっぷちに向かって走ると、 自動で向こう岸にジャンプします。 勢いが足りないとブラ下がります。	Run up to the edge of a cliff, and you'll automatically jump to the other side. If you don't have enough momentum, you'll hang down from it instead.
40	子供は大人のくぐれないような せまい通路をくぐれます。 大人は子供のとどかない高さの 段差にとびつくことができます。	Kids can fit through narrow passages that adults can't. Adults can jump up to places that are too high for kids to reach.

58	時のオカリナをみつけた！ Ｃにセットし、吹いてみる。 Ａ、Ｃボタンでピーヒャララ。	You found the Ocarina of Time! Set it to C and try playing it. Use the A and C buttons to toot a tune.
59	馬の草笛を手に入れた！ Ｃにセットし、吹いてみる。 馬に乗りたきゃ、吹いてみる。	You got the Horse's Reed Whistle! Set it to C and try playing it. Play it when you want to ride the horse.	The model for this item is still in the final game, albeit unused. It was replaced with Epona's Song.
60	炎のメダルをもらった！ Ｃにセットし、魔法を使う！ メラメラ燃やすぞ、炎の魔法。	You got the Fire Medallion! Set it to C to cast magic! This fire spell will get you fired up.
61	氷のメダルをもらった！ Ｃにセットし、魔法を使う！ カチンコチンで火も消える。	You got the Ice Medallion! Set it to C to cast magic! It'll freeze things so stiff even fire will go out.
62	風のメダルをもらった！ Ｃにセットし、ワープする！ 危なくなったらワープする。	You got the Wind Medallion! Set it to C and you'll teleport! Warp away whenever you're in danger.
63	魂のメダルをもらった！ Ｃで使えばナビィになれる！ ナビィになって飛び回れ！	You got the Spirit Medallion! Use it with C to turn into Navi! Fly around as Navi!	A version of the Fairy spell from Zelda II.
64	光のメダルをもらった！ Ｃにセットし、全てを照らせ！ 闇をもはらう、光の魔法。	You got the Light Medallion! Set it to C and light everything up! This light spell will illuminate the dark.
65	闇のメダルをもらった！ Ｃで使えば、まっくらけ！ 暗くて敵も気付かない！	You got the Shadow Medallion! Use it with C and everything will become pitch black! Enemies won't be able to notice you in the dark!

Also known by the name Death Mountain, it's a volcano inhabited by the Gorons. The Gorons are an odd bunch. They'll usually be curled up into a ball, looking like a rock. I heard the Gorons produce bombs and use them to break rocks into pieces to eat them.	Mount Hebra is the name used for the Light World version of Death Mountain in the Japanese version of A Link to the Past (however, the Japanese version still referred to the Light World version as Death Mountain in the ending cutscene and the manual map; the final English version exclusively used Death Mountain instead after dropping the Mount Hebra name sometime in development). The name would later appear in Breath of the Wild. It looks like the scriptwriter for Ocarina of Time wanted to make clear the fact that it's just two different names for the same location, but the final version drops this line and only ever refers to it as Death Mountain.

I heard they worked in the shadows, in the underground... But as peace returned, there was no more need for their clandestine activities. Ever since then, there's no one in the world of Hyrule that has seen a Sheikah.	Similar to the final script, but some of the tribe's backstory was ommitted. 裏世界 likely means a world hidden from the eyes of the public (see the latter use of 裏) rather than another world altogether.

To open the Temple of Time and access the Sacred Realm, one needs the Ocarina of Time, passed down in my family for generations... the three Spiritual Stones, kept by the elders of the Kokiri, Goron, and Zora tribes... and finally, the legendary blade of evil's bane, the Master Sword!
