The ELF file has differences from both the September 17 prototype and the final build which need looking into.

A build of the PlayStation 2 version with a date of September 25 2001, around two weeks older than the final build.

There are only a small number of differences to the final game. Nearly all the major changes between the September 17 build and the final game have taken place in this version.

Changes from the September 17 Build

  • The levels, drop-off location names and credits are now identical to the final game.
  • The Kang and Kodos ending cutscene has been removed.
  • scrooby.rcf has been replaced with the same fe1.rcf, fe2.rcf and fe3.rcf files used in the final game.

Differences to the Final Version

  • The images used for when there isn't enough space on the memory card (one image for Slot 1 and another for Slot 2) state that 262KB is needed instead of 248KB in the final game.

  • Some pause menu graphics have been removed from the final game. They are unused in the prototype.

  • ctfgame.p3d and ingame.p3d have a different date and time in their headers. ctfgame.p3d is otherwise identical to the equivalent file in the final build. The final version of ingame.p3d has duplicate text relating to an unplugged controller while in the prototype version the text only appears once.

  • road.p3d also has header differences, where a code after the name of the software used is different.
