Chéri/Chérie

The distinction is not at all that one is a name and one is an adjective: they're both adjectives and nouns. Chéri is the masculine version of it, though, and I'd assume that means they changed it because the person spoken about is Mario, although I haven't played the game so I don't know the scene. --Rapstah 05:35, 22 December 2012 (EST)

Edit: Oops, I read your text surrounding the quote and if it's referring to a woman, then "cherie", ignoring that there is supposed to be an accent over the e, is actually the correct French. Never mind that the game isn't actually in French so they were probably going for readability instead. --Rapstah 07:26, 22 December 2012 (EST)
Yeah, in-game there is no accent. I don't know any French so I basically just had to search online and see what the different was. But for the scene in question, a male character, Dupree, is hitting on Goombella who is a girl, and so he uses a bunch of gratuitous French when he speaks. If you have any idea about what the real reason they changed it is, feel free to change it. --Tonitonichopchop 13:10, 22 December 2012 (EST)

Help

I'm interested in helping, however I don't have this demo disc. Can someone give it to me (Warn me if the guidelines say something that this is illegal). --989Nintendo898 15:54 31/01/2013 (Finnish time)

Video

I don't know if this is of much help but I found a video clip showing the demo footage and noting the changes.

Another Demo?

Apparently, from what information I've found, there was a later demo with Rogueport in it? The preceding unsigned comment was added by Dagutmu (talk • contribs)

Yup, on the GCN Demo Disc 20. --989Nintendo898 13:04 20/06/2013 (Finnish time)
Is it a prototype though? --Hiccup (talk) 05:09, 24 December 2013 (EST)
I don't think it is. It seems based on the final game, apart from the title screen still having the unused theme on it and lacking the intro animation --Mspeter97 (talk) 04:13, 7 December 2016 (EST)

"Enemy Revival"?

[[File:PMTTYDEnemyRevive.png]]
ランクアップ are the katakana for "Rank Up", nothing to do with enemy revivals as far as I can tell? --Xdaniel 17:52, 28 June 2013 (EDT)

Oops. I think I uploaded the wrong file. --GoldS 17:54, 28 June 2013 (EDT)

Items

Are those old versions of items really taken from this demo? Because if not, they should be moved back to the unused graphics subpage. --Peardian 00:32, 30 June 2013 (EDT)

Yes, they are. I left them sitting on the wiki unused before the prototype page was put up. Divingkataetheweirdo saw them and accidentally added them to the main article as early graphics. --GoldS 00:37, 30 June 2013 (EDT)

IMPORTANT! Dolphin Emulator Trouble

If anyone is having trouble getting the Paper Mario 2 portion of the disc to work properly in Dolphin emulator, I recommend copying the contents of the GameINI overrides from the retail release. I am sure any game demo ever released in the Interactive Multi-Game Demo Disc linage will need the overrides copied from their retail counterparts if issues are encountered. Hopefully I save someone trouble in the future by mentioning this. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) 21:14, 9 June 2024 (UTC)
