Directory structure of one beta3 I've found lacks this "setup":

I've never seen a Quake with a Doom setup program. Ever. HsienKo 01:58, 8 April 2012 (EDT)

There's not much of a point of a separate setup.exe for Quake 1. By the time Beta3/.98/whatever you want to call it was released, they've already integrated all of the stuff Doom's SETUP.EXE into the actual game via the options menu, console commands or command parameters. Even in Qtest1 you can set up everything via the console and .cfgs, so there's no point of having a separate setup.exe. I'm thinking it was just some idiot that packed it in because "hurr Doom had a setup.exe, so Quake must need one as well!", grabbed the setup.exe from Doom 2, packed it in with his copy of .98, then distributed it. Download

Would someone be willing to put this up for download? I had it a few years ago, but evidently I accidentally deleted it with the rest of my DOS Quake files. --Dragonsbrethren (talk) 06:39, 2 December 2013 (EST)
