Title Question

Shouldn't it be Star Fox 2? I've never seen the Starfox spelling... LinkTheLefty 12:44, 5 February 2013 (EST)

As far as I know, it's usually referred to as Starfox. For example, Starfox Command, Starfox 64, etc. -AquaBat 15:27, 5 February 2013 (EST)
Then again, I could be horribly, horribly wrong. -AquaBat 15:31, 5 February 2013 (EST)

Build Differences

Would they be considered "Revisional Differences", even though Star Fox 2 was unreleased? -WarioBarker (talk) 08:57, 3 December 2013 (EST)

*Technically*, yes. Although Star Fox 2 didn't get released, the two currently "leaked" ROMs show obvious large scale differences (still considered "revisional" changes, as large as they are). -dtr138 02:46, 22 June 2015 (EST)

Why not take some shots from the starfox object decoder?

In the starfox object decoder by vl tone you can see alot of unused objects for the early SF2 build. There are even hands presumably Andross's,and a unused face that i think is Andross. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Spaztron64 (talk • contribs)

Build date?

Maybe a leftover of the NESglider prototype?

At 0xE07

Unused audio?

Using SNES sound ripper, I found a couple of audio of a male voice and a female voice saying 1-up, the original audio was already sped up when ripped, (

Here's what it sounds like when slowed down.

Have any of these ever been used during normal gameplay? The preceding unsigned comment was added by Firemaster8 (talk • contribs)

I've never heard either of those in the footage I've seen. Keep in mind the version of the game leaked is still a little unfinished. I think there's some stuff that would have been used in the final version that goes unused in the latest prototype leaked. --From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 15:54, 7 March 2017 (EST)
Good point, For it being an unreleased and unfinished game I was wondering if it would be OK if this was added to the page? --Firemaster8 (talk) 09:58, 8 March 2017 (EST)
Very OK, go for it! --GlitterBerri (talk) 17:52, 8 March 2017 (EST)
These are used as the Lylatian speech SFX in-game for Fox, Falco, Slippy, Miyu, Fay and General Pepper. Fox and Pepper's speech SFX have the male "1-up" sample mixed in with the beginning of the "Twin Blasters" sample. I believe these were recorded by Dan Owsen and Kayomi McDonald respectively. It is possible that they planned to include a lives system early on, but scrapped it in favor of the partner system in later builds of the game. --Patch93 (talk) 11:31, 7 June 2018 (PST)

So it's finally getting released officially

I think we all heard the news by now that Nintendo is releasing this officially for the SNES classic, so are we going to rip the rom out of that eventually and see if there's any difference, or maybe update this to reflect that it's no longer unreleased?--MitchZer0 (talk) 19:08, 26 June 2017 (EDT)

We'll update it to reflect how it's no longer unreleased and see if there's any difference with the released ROM once the game is officially released. --From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 19:11, 26 June 2017 (EDT)
Just to make sure, this page would need to be moved to something like "Star Fox 2 (Later Prototype)" should there be any changes to the game, right? --Sgv Sth (talk) 19:28, 26 June 2017 (EDT)
Assuming Nintendo releases a newer build than the one we have, it would go to Proto:Star Fox 2/Later Prototype. --From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 19:32, 26 June 2017 (EDT)
I have a hunch that the version will be a newer build, because a completed version DOES exist according to developer Dylan Cuthbert. --BSonirachi (talk) 10:36, 27 June 2017 (EDT)

Should we remove the "Unreleased" status yet?

Since it's getting released on the SNES Classic Edition should we remove the Unreleased status and put "Released internationally: September 29, 2017 (Super NES Classic Edition)" yet? --Starz Lol (talk) 18:42, 27 June 2017 (EDT)

When it's officially released on that date, we will remove it. --From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 18:49, 27 June 2017 (EDT)
We'd almost certainly need to move the current contents to the Proto namespace, though - the article linked on the main page indicates that Star Fox 2 had finished development and was fully ready for release, and it's a pretty safe bet that'll be the ROM present on the SNES Classic. -WarioBarker (talk) 17:27, 9 July 2017 (EDT)
The final ROM curiously features the 1996 copyright year at the title screen. By the time the game actually releases, would it be prudent to rename the article after the time-stamp found in the ROM (June 22, 1995) to immediately chronologize its development? --OKeijiDragon 01:08, 2 September 2017 (EDT)
Once it's moved over to the prototype section, yes. For now, though, the newest prototype will stay where it is until the SNES Classic's release and the ROM is dug out.--From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 01:24, 2 September 2017 (EDT)

Accessing extra menus in final version

The next cheat codes should be used for entering the removed menus in the snes mini version

7E1C2003 for test menu 7E1C2004 for practice mode

turn off after entering the corresponding menu

trying to access the config menu by editing the adress returns the game to the intro for some reason, also, trying to play a level in the test menu is impossible without the next cheats

7FFA2502 7ED7F402 7E1BC802

also, venom level 06 its finished in this version, it seems to be a test level for the homing upgrade

The ROM in the SNES Classic and final cart

Is the version of the game included with the SNES Classic Edition the same ROM from the cart that Dylan Cuthbert has? I sure hope so. Although from what I can tell, he was unable to release the cart for legal reasons. Has he confirmed the ROM is indeed his or did Nintendo polish up the original ROMS to create their version of the game? Halfbit (talk) 10:30, 29 September 2017 (EDT)
