This cactus is UNDER CONSTRUCTION
This article is a work in progress.
...Well, all the articles here are, in a way. But this one moreso, and the article may contain incomplete information and editor's notes.

Rolypolys' Seven-Downs Eight-Ups is a children's edutainment game by the people behind titles such as Eastern Mind: The Lost Souls of Tong-Nou and LSD: Dream Emulator.

It gets as weird as you would expect.

Hmmm...
To do:
  • Search the letters.

Sub-Page

Miscellaneous tidbits that are interesting enough to point out here.
Notes

Intro Assets

Alternate OutSide Intro

Present in the game's directory are two intro videos for OutSide. One, remixed from Eastern Mind, is used. This version, copied from Chu-teng (the sequel to Eastern Mind), is not.

Early Shinko Logo Sound

sinko logo is an early sound for Shinko's logo that uses the same synthesizer as the final file (ShinkoLogoNew).

Shooting Game

Hmmm...
To do:
  • Is the alternate mode actually used, and the method for triggering it is just very obscure?

In the shooting game from the letter A, the player must move the cursor and click to shoot a virtual Cho who flies around the screen.

Japanese Text

RolyPolys1 ShootingGame message.png

A handwritten message occupying slot 61. "マウスで連打するんだ!" translates to "Hit repeatedly with the mouse!"

Alternate Mode

Split Bullet

ShootingSplitBullet-Animated.gif

At the end of the file, there are frames for a bullet being shot, which then splits to travel past two virtual Chos that are jumping on either side of the screen.
