Rune Factory 4 is the first in the series to be released for the Nintendo 3DS, and is apparently not "A Fantasy Harvest Moon".
Unused Graphics
A dummy image can be found in various files throughout the game.
A version with some transparency also shows up in one map file.
Unused NPC Descriptions
For every tame-able monster enemy and NPC that can be taken along with you, there's a description to go along with it that's viewable in the menu. However, there are monsters and NPCs that can't be added to the party, and many of them still have descriptions that would normally go unseen:

Soldier | Town Soldier. Goofy but in a pursuit squad. Often mistakes the knee for the elbow. |
Soldier | Town soldier. Powerful and good at using a shield. Thinks about pizza more than he does tired old knee-related concerns. |
Soldier | Town soldier with a penchant for stealth. Doesn't care for pizza, and welcomes arrows in his knees, as they prove he can still feel. |

Rider Orc | A monster you can ride to breeze through the fields. |
Master Troll | Huuuuge! No other explanation needed! |
Big Duck | A very huge Duck. Because of its size, no one thinks it's cute anymore, which secretly makes it a little sad. Many have nightmares about it. |
King Wooly | Big Woolies are nothing new, but trust us, this one is dangerous. |
Death Fungus | A monster mushroom. Its spores cause various status ailments. |
Baal | A devil. There's no other way to describe it. You will feel the horror soon enough. |
Black Dragon | A black dragon. This is the most popular dragon among young boys because it looks so cool. |
Guardian | A protector. Except no one knows what it's protecting. Doesn't that make it mysterious in a cool kind of way, though? |
Death Orc | An orc called a minister of death. It's just an orc, but sounds scary when you put it that way, doesn't it? Don't underestimate it! |
Sechs Dragon | A transformed imperial soldier. |
Hover Soldier | You'd think he'd be good at scouting, but nope! He's actually much better at fighting. |
??? | A magical creature. Absorbs physical attacks. |
Sechs Sorcerer | Didn't want to be a sorcerer. Take that, you stupid sorcerer! |
Sechs Cat | Very, VERY happy. That is all. |
Mineral Squeek | A chipsqueek that loves minerals. As it gets damaged, it drops its stash. |
Raccoon | An ordinary raccoon. Has no ability to transform. |
Sechs Golem | A golem created through the technology of the Sechs Empire. |
Magnuto | A mischievous raccoon. You'll surely regret your attempts to attack it. |
Ancient Bone | The ball inside the bone serves as its core. Gets violent once the flower disappears. Has a low bone density. |
Ethelwill | A villain plotting to take over the world. |
Ragnarok | Ethelberd's final form. |
Ethelberd | A villain plotting to take over the world. |
Rafflesia | A large, smelly flower. Grows back quickly even when defeated. How? Why? ...It's a secret!(Shhhhut uuup!) |
Armored Tank + | A tank modified for all-terrain travel. Also waterproof for some reason. |
Sano | Uno's husband. Bright and optimistic. |
Uno | Sano's wife. Mature and reliable. |
Sechs Tank | An all-terrain tank created to prove to the world that Sechs tech is the best. All hail Glorious Leader! |
