Shien's Revenge is a first-person on-rails Ninja simulator.

Debug Menu

A Debug Menu can be enabled by pressing Up 7 times, then X 7 times on controller 2 at the title screen menu. This menu is also controlled with controller 2. Press B to select a sub-menu. To exit the menu, press Start.

CPU Mode

Press A to select "SLOW" CPU Mode, or press B for the default "FAST" mode.

Stage Select

Bog-standard stage select. Press A to increase the stage / area number and B to decrease it.

Sound Test

Test some sounds! A increases the selected music / sound effect ID, B decreases the ID, and Y plays the track / noise.

The bottom-left digit tracks the BGM timer.

Input Device

This should display the current Input Device, but it always seems to display "JOY-PAD". The other text in the ROM for this option is "MOUSE" and "DISCONNECT".

SFC Version

Displays relevant SFC version information from the CPU and Picture Processing Unit registers.

Game Mode

This can be set to either "NORMAL PLAY" (default) or "NO HIT", which will prevent the player from being damaged.
