Shingata Medarot: Kabuto and Kuwagata is a remake of the first Medarot using the same engine as Medarot 2 Core. Unlike that other remake, however, it remained Japan-exclusive once again.
The game was rather unpopular among fans at the time due its controversial art style and for being a retelling of the first game beat by beat but only with a different cast for no discernible reason.
