Yet another Skylanders game for the 5th year in a row. This time, Kaos found Mind Magic (which the Ancients used to create everything in Skylands thousands of years ago) to create an army of Doomlanders. Unlike other titles, you can create your own characters using Creation Crystals, and there are Skylanders to help train them: the Senseis, the greatest Skylanders of all time! Alongside that, familiar faces such as Spyro, Stealth Elf, Gill Grunt, Eruptor, Pop Fizz and Jet-Vac would help you on your adventure.

Also, Crash Bandicoot and Dr. Neo Cortex are playable characters on all consoles, essentially coming full-circle with Spyro's initial prominence in the series. This is notably the first Skylanders game to be released on the Nintendo Switch, ditching the portal for the controllers' NFC reader to store the figures in the system (which even includes the exclusive Turbo Charge Donkey Kong and Hammer Slam Bowser amiibo-hybrid figures made for SuperChargers), though it comes with the caveat of traps and vehicles being incompatible.

Currently, this is the final Skylanders game to release, coming out right when the Toys-to-Life craze was sinking considerably.

Gear Head VVind-Up

A leftover from Skylanders: SuperChargers, likely due to being built off that game. He is still named "VVind-Up" in the Skylander menu, maintains his appearance from SuperChargers, and still has the same health - 1337 health at level one, and 4011 health at level 20. His icon is of regular Wind-Up, however.

Template Template

Another leftover from Skylanders: SuperChargers who is a green humanoid with a purple shirt, blue pants, black shoes, and a dark blue tail. Template Template is mostly the same, except he now uses Stink Bomb's icon except in the race set up menu where his icon appears as a red exclamation mark. His summoning animation is bugged in that the game now crashes when it is about to return to gameplay if his top half is used. To bring him into the main game without a game crash, Template Template must be sent to a race, and then the race must be exited from.
