This is a sub-page of SpongeBob SquarePants: Revenge of the Flying Dutchman (GameCube, PlayStation 2).

Bikini Bottom

Intro

Apparently, the intro was meant to have a voice-over by the French Narrator. The actual intro is much shorter than the voice-over, so this goes unused.

Speaker Sound Subtitle Notes
French Narrator
Ahhhhh. All is quiet as a new day dawns in Bikini Bottom. Its inhabitants awaken to the gentle tidings of nature. Plays while the view of Conch Street is still visible.
French Narrator
But for one little sponge, this will be no ordinary day. Plays when the scene shifts to SpongeBob's bedroom.
French Narrator
For adventure and danger await him, just beyond his bedroom door.

Costume Changing Tent

The French Narrator was going to tell SpongeBob about the costume changing tents.

Speaker Sound Subtitle Notes
SpongeBob
What a cute little tent! I didn't know people could camp around here. Plays when you walk up to a costume changing tent.
French Narrator
That tent is not for camping. It is for changing clothes. Once you have a new costume, you can go inside the tent to change.

Patrick's Rock Garden

This conversation describes a task where you would use the Reef Blower to roll some stones in Patrick's "rock garden" back to their correct positions.

The rock garden still remains, but there are no rocks, and the geysers are where the "correct positions" would have been.

Judging by the script for Bikini Bottom, this task would have taken place after Patrick is kidnapped by the Flying Dutchman.

Speaker Sound Subtitle
SpongeBob
Patrick sure is getting sloppy. Just look at how messy his rock garden has become.
French Narrator
Perhaps you can help your friend clean up. Use your Reef Blower to roll the stones back to their correct positions.

SpongeBob's Helmet

This sound would have played when SpongeBob interacts with his water helmet. His water helmet is nowhere to be found in the game, so this goes unused.

Speaker Sound Subtitle
SpongeBob
This is no time to dilly-dally in front of the helmet!

Downtown Bikini Bottom

Construction Site Foremen

The foremen in the Construction Site were meant to talk, but given how terrible their voice acting is, it's no surprise that they don't.

Speaker Sound Subtitle Notes
Foreman #1
Bring that food over and set it down. Plays when SpongeBob approaches the first foreman.
Foreman #2
Hey! Is that my food? Drop it off up here! Plays when SpongeBob approaches the second foreman.

Locked Areas

There are two unused conversations that play when walking up to the locked entrances of the Construction Site and the High Rise, respectively.

Speaker Sound Subtitle Notes
SpongeBob
I wonder where this street goes. Plays on approaching the locked entrance of either area.
French Narrator
That must be the way to the Construction Site. Perhaps you can go there when you have a good enough reason. Plays on approaching the locked entrance for the Construction Site.
French Narrator
That leads to the High Rise apartments. It is private property, so you can not enter without a good reason. Plays on approaching the locked entrance for the High Rise.

Unlocking the Mermaid Man Costume

An unused interaction involving the French Narrator teaching SpongeBob about the Mermaid Man costume's abilities, including a reference to a cut Whirlpool attack.

Speaker Sound Subtitle Notes
SpongeBob
Mermaid Man! To action! Plays when you change into the Mermaid Man costume for the first time.
French Narrator
Now you can create as many water balls as you desire. You can throw these at enemies, or use them to extinguish fires, or to knock down containers and smash them open.
French Narrator
Use the Whirlpool attack to hit targets in all directions.

Jellyfish Fields

French Narrator

Speech\English\VO_JFCL\JFIELDS2.VAG is a clip of the French Narrator (Tom Kenny, not the one used in-game) describing Jellyfish Fields. It is a direct rip from the Season 2 episode, Jellyfish Hunter. May have been used at one point to introduce the level in the same manner as Battle for Bikini Bottom.

Goo Lagoon

Magic Bottle Vending Machine

Instead of a magic bottle, you were originally going to collect a magic bottle vending machine. When we said this game was odd, we weren't kidding.

Speaker Sound Subtitle Notes
SpongeBob
I need a magic bottle vending machine that I saw in a book. Don't ask me why, it's a looooong story. Plays when you talk to Rusty Scupper at the Goo Lagoon Pier for the first time. Rusty Scupper has no lines relating to the magic bottle vending machine, implying that it may never have actually physically been in the game at any point in development and was very shortly changed to the single magic bottle that's seen in the final game.
SpongeBob
How much will that magic bottle vending machine cost? Plays when you talk to Rusty Scupper when you have enough for the magic bottle vending machine.

Flying Dutchman's Graveyard

Dutchman's Ship Intro

Unused line for entering the Dutchman's Ship area. In the final game, SpongeBob says nothing.

Speaker Sound Subtitle
SpongeBob
Well, there's no turning back now. All I have to do is get on the Dutchman's Ship.

Finding SpongeBob's Friends

Unused conversation that plays when SpongeBob discovers his hypnotized friends. In the final game, nothing is said.

Speaker Sound Subtitle Notes
French Narrator
There are your friends! Now get them into one of the lifeboats over the side of the ship! Hurry! Only a dinghy is present, not lifeboats.
SpongeBob
Gary! Squidward! Mr. Krabs! Sandy! Patrick! You're all here! Come on, we've got to go before the Dutchman returns!
SpongeBob
I'm serious. Those chores can wait until later. We need to make like a riptide and head out to sea, so just jump over the side and we can all get away in my flying dinghy. This line is inconsistent with the French Narrator's first line, referring to a "flying dinghy" instead of "lifeboats."
SpongeBob
Hellooo?
French Narrator
Quickly! You must get closer to each friend and snap them out of it, before the Dutchman returns!

Saving Gary

Said by Gary when you break the spell on him. In the final game, he says nothing.

Speaker Sound Subtitle
Gary
Meow!

Alternate Final Boss Intro

At one point, you could either start the Flying Dutchman battle without saving SpongeBob's friends or you would have simply saved them after defeating him.

Speaker Sound Subtitle
Flying Dutchman
Hahahaha! Poor little SpongeBob! Seems like your friends want to stay here, after all!
SpongeBob
There's no way they'd want to stay with you! You've got them under some kind of spell, Dutchman.
Flying Dutchman
Hey, go easy on me! I'm not the ghost I used to be, but who is?
Flying Dutchman
As for your friends, they will remain under my spell for so long as it takes to restore my ship to her former glory.
SpongeBob
Well, you're not the only one packin' magic on this voyage. After I use this magic bottle to knock some sense into my friends, I'm gonna squeeze you in it for a long, comfortable stay.
Flying Dutchman
Haha! You're going to use that fancy little bottle to break my spell over your friends, then use it to defeat me? Hahaha! You don't stand a chance, SquarePants!

Dutchman Win Quote

Placeholder voice clip which would be said by the Flying Dutchman if you were defeated during the final battle. In the final game, he says, "you're all mine now, SpongeBob. All mine."

Speaker Sound Subtitle
Flying Dutchman
Looks like you'll have to try again, sponge-boy!

Ending Scene

Squidward says the following line in response to Mr Krabs' "To the Krusty Krab, everyone, for a feast like no other!" line. Given how out-of-character this line is for him, it was not used.

Speaker Sound Subtitle Notes
Squidward
Now that's a great idea! Squidward actually has an entry for a line in the ending's script that certainly would have used this clip, but it's blank, suggesting it came incredibly close to being used.

Miscellaneous

SpongeBob's Laugh

Speech\English\vo_test\Test1.VAG is a short sample of SpongeBob's laugh, ripped from the Season 1 episode, Plankton.

Main Menu

Audio Speaker Subtitle Notes
SpongeBob I'm ready! Would play on the volume slider. The game uses the regular menu navigation sound effect instead.

Audience of Kids

It seems the audience of kids were meant to do more than just express their disgust at the Dutchman's Treasures.

Audio Notes
Plays when finding the Jellyfish Fields Dutchman's Treasure. Strangely, the audience of kids remain silent for this in the final game.
Plays when finding the Flying Dutchman's Graveyard Dutchman's Treasure. The regular "ew" sound is used instead.
Plays when finding the Goo Lagoon Dutchman's Treasure. The regular "ew" sound is used instead.
