Story of Lasama is an obscure Super Mario Land knockoff without the stomping fun. It's also noticeably shorter, only containing three worlds.

StoryOfLasama-SyntekLTD.png

Present at the very end of the ROM is a logo for Syntek LTD., a Taiwanese electronics company (not to be confused with Sintax). This logo may have been displayed when the game booted, like with Gowin's other published titles, but this game goes straight to the title screen. Whether the company was involved in the game's production is unknown.

Partially-Unused Music

Hmmm...
To do:
Find a way to play this music on the title screen via Game Genie or a hex editor.

The "Stage X-X" screen music lasts for 14 seconds before looping, but only the first 7.5 seconds are heard in-game (thus never getting to the loop).

Unused Font

StoryofLasama-AlphabeticalFont.png

The entire alphabetical font is loaded into memory at all times, although not all letters are used. A semicolon is also present, for whatever reason.

Build Date

Present in the ROM at 0x00B4 and in the ROM header at 0x0134.

GOWIN LASAMA 930920

The date (September 20, 1993) is also present in fellow Gowin titles Rainbow Prince and Top Secret.
