I checked out the Test1/2/3 options. They don't actually freeze the game - they actually seem to start a new game after calling several additional routines, but a few instructions at the end of each of the Test1/2/3 routines are replaced with NOPs and the screen stays turned off after the game starts.

With those instructions NOPed out, the code executed by the three different Test options appears to be the same - the removed code is probably all that differed between them (to the point where removing it makes the test options useless.) There definitely seems to be something going on behind the scenes though, but I haven't had time to check it out in any detail. Devin 08:18, 9 December 2011 (EST)

Hrm. Interesting. I also noticed a STAGESELECT string in the ROM, might be worth checking out. --GoldS 08:29, 9 December 2011 (EST)
The stage select is a regular cheat code: [1] Don't know if it's worth mentioning on the wiki or not. It's probably not connected to the Test options. Devin 06:08, 10 December 2011 (EST)

Its not really important but to explain why 2p Mode was dummied out is simple, Since the 'Alien' itself was changed between versions they probably didn't have enough time to Program a 2p Version of the New 'Alien'. From: SamuelEarl666
