Other unused content

This is my first time talking on tcrf.net, so go easy on me. I know a couple of more unused stuff in this game just by watching early gameplay videos from IGN on youtube. First off, there is 2-3 last seconds unused in the tom-tom battle theme that would prevent it from looping, but as with the time square theme, the game loops the theme before it. Interestingly enough, these last 2-3 seconds were used in the sequel, remixed for the end of a round in versus mode. The octoballoon enemies also used to shoot a generic yellow energy ball before firing trash in the final. There's also a couple of HUD differences in those videos. I'm definitely most interested in finding unused content for this failed series in particular. I'll save Blinx 2 info for when somebody makes a page for it. --Qwertybnm (talk) 17:35, 6 August 2015 (EDT)

The last couple seconds of the TomTom theme do play in the game when you beat them, internally it's a separate file. The other stuff you mentioned will go into a prerelease page, whenever I (or someone else) gets around to it. --Dr. Yay (talk) 16:55, 15 August 2015 (EDT)
This might be a ridiculously late response, but I'll definitely be excited to put the stuff I know for the prerelease page once somebody starts it up. Just one question: Is it ok to link an IGN youtube video in the prerelease page to demonstrate some of the info? Also, the trailers for the game are most likely not unlockable, because two people have already unlocked every prize in the game's collection by collecting the cat medals, including the secret prize, (S+ Rank on all of the game's stages) and with all of the prizes shown, none of them turned out to be the trailer. --Qwertybnm (talk) 19:04, 23 August 2015 (EDT)

The files that couldn't be opened...

DDS Viewer was able to open these. They're more early bits and pieces, as well as screens from the E3 demo. (The early shop and loading screens are probably from an early version of the E3 demo, judging by the original filenames (ending_title and loading_title) and the similar styles.) --Techinicabor (talk) 22:10, 7 August 2015 (EDT)

Ah, thanks, I'll go take a look at these later. I was just using the regular Windows image viewer before. --Dr. Yay (talk) 16:55, 15 August 2015 (EDT)

Stuff in the main executable.

There are XDK bits, file paths, a lot of leftover assembly(?) code, what may be a log of some sorts, and some other miscellany. It's pretty much impossible to go through ALL of it and pick it out unless someone comes along who can disassemble XBEs. (there's also a lot of Japanese text, some being comments in the code leftovers.) --Techinicabor (talk) 04:01, 22 August 2015 (EDT)

How did you get what you were able to find? --Dr. Yay (talk) 19:13, 22 August 2015 (EDT)
I plopped the XBE in Notepad++ and removed a lot of code-related characters and removed garbage from the top of the file, only to grow impatient (a few hours later) and scroll to the bottom, just now realizing that there's Japanese text in the code and I was removing bits of it in the process. At the very bottom I saw a list of information of some kind, and it feels like it may be a development log or a list of something, can't really tell seeing how it's all in Japanese. --Techinicabor (talk) 19:34, 22 August 2015 (EDT)

The SFD streams.

The only thing I've found that can play these fully (WITH AUDIO!) is Media Player Classic, which sadly has no way to save output. I'll keep looking for a competent converter. (Can't find ANYTHING) --Techinicabor (talk) 01:22, 24 August 2015 (EDT)

I've already run out of places to look. Quite a pita we've got here. --Techinicabor (talk) 02:03, 24 August 2015 (EDT)
I just found the easiest method of converting the SFD's to video with audio: Upload the SFD to Youtube. I'm not even kidding. --Techinicabor (talk) 20:35, 24 August 2015 (EDT)
VLC opens them, though most of the audio is stored separately as ADX files. --Dr. Yay (talk) 21:11, 24 August 2015 (EDT)
Most of the videos have ADX in the same file. The only videos that have separate audio seem to be the cutscenes, which may imply they were going to be voiced in English before they were forced to use subtitles. --Techinicabor (talk) 21:21, 24 August 2015 (EDT)

blinx_pr001.sfd, blinx_pr001_jp.sfd, op01_e3.sfd, and op01b.sfd have been uploaded to YouTube. c: --Techinicabor (talk) 20:27, 25 August 2015 (EDT)

E3 opening

The E3 opening uses the same audio as the final. Also, I'm not sure how these are being uploaded to YouTube, but simply uploading the raw SFD will result in the video coming with audio. The files can also be opened, including audio, in Media Player Classic, just with no scrubbing/rewinding, the file has to be reloaded to play again. (Just reaffirming here, found it interesting.) --Techinicabor (talk) 10:37, 11 October 2015 (EDT)

Unused Round 7?

According to the "Blinx Encyclopedia", Everwinter and Forge of Hours are actually internally named "Round 8" & "Round 9" respectively, with Momentopolis not having a Round named track, since that stage only consists of the Final Boss theme. There is no track named "Round 7", and no name is given to the missing Round. The following images of the game's files are in this BLiNX Encyclopedia page as proof. The concept art on the page most likely has nothing to do with the scrapped Round, because the face statues resemble Round 5,(Temple of Lost Time) and the wooden branches are part of Round 4 (Forgotten City). Now, if only Naoto Oshima, the creator of BLiNX and Sonic's first concepts, could answer what exactly this scrapped Round was supposed to be. My guess goes to this concept art, but it might be just another part of Round 6 (Mine of Precious Moments) for all we know. On a less important note, Temple of Lost Time & Forgotten City were originally going to have switched places with each other, with Temple of Lost Time as Round 4, and Forgotten City as Round 5. If the Rounds were switched like this, then the order of bosses would make more sense. (Dust Keeper, Kerogon, Molesaur, Juggernaut, Dust King, Kerogon II, Hydrosaur, and Juggernaut II) --Qwertybnm (talk) 23:48, 25 April 2017 (EDT)

there might be some unused voice lines in 4_plyrvo.bin and 6_tomVo.bin

Blinx 1 and 2 demos

https://www.mediafire.com/folder/bza749l854s9y/Blinx%20Demos There might be some unused content in these demos, but I can't run them on a console yet and emulators crash right after the first loading screen in Blinx 1 (US and JP)
