NES Release Date

Hey, all. For historical purposes, I've been trying to pinpoint the actual US release date. November of 1988 has been confirmed, but no number. There have been claims it was Monday, November 28, 1988, but I haven't found any documents to support that. I figured I'd throw this post out there just in case someone knows something. Thank you! - TriforceOfWisdumb (talk) 01:20, 11 December 2023 (UTC)

Unless you find an internal document from the publisher or a store, you won't know a specific day of release. Back then, publishers weren't so strict about a specific release day. Games have to shipped to stores days or weeks before a release to give the store enough time to do inventory, so it's entirely possible stores just put the games up for sale whenever they were ready and not on a specific day. So if a game was supposed to be released on November, then the stores would just put it for sale any day of November. ReyVGM (talk) 07:27, 11 December 2023 (UTC)
Also, the only official source we have for NES release dates are in the Nintendo Power GamePak Directory supplementals and even those only use months and years for release dates.ReyVGM (talk) 07:28, 11 December 2023 (UTC)
