GoldenEye Setup Editor V3

A lot of the "beta icons" are explainable as how they placed setup objects. Also this should help flushing out beta: http://goldeneyevault.com/viewfile.php?id=37

Speculation

Well this is just speculation, but I think there's a fair bit of evidence that Dino Domain was once an Egyptian-themed world:

  • Ancient Lake, Fossil Canyon and Jungle Falls all have clearly man-made stone structures; the latter two are fairly elaborate.
  • The volcano theme sounds more like a haunted pyramid theme.
  • Come on that yellow lava is clearly quicksand who are you kidding. 23:35, 22 December 2010 (EST)
The unused objects video also shows what looks like a golden statue of the first boss. Dinosaurs didn't make golden statues... 01:30, 29 December 2010 (EST)

The uploader of the Horseshoe Gulch video deleted it, so i removed the URL. --Mario Weaboo 21:24, 13 May 2013 (EDT)

Yeeeeeep. The sooner we can get away from hosting videos on YouTube, the better. -_- --BMF54123 22:58, 13 May 2013 (EDT)
Would it be a good idea for the TCRF to start its own YouTube channel and to then upload mirror copies of any YouTube footage currently used on the wiki? At least that would let the wiki ensure that no video arbitrarily goes dead. --Celice

The lighthouse image mod code

The lighthouse code to change it to the unused stuff hasn't been working no matter what I do. I've tried it on multiple emulators, but the lighthouse just won't change! Does the description have the wrong code? Can someone help me out? Lemurboy12 (talk) 10:55, 20 November 2013 (EST)

Sorry for the late reply, but I have indeed got it to work and even did a video going over the unused models.
Start the code up on the file select menu, and while the code is active, choose a file that has the lighthouse that hasn't taken off to Future Fun Land yet. The lighthouse should change to the value you have chosen. --Goomther (talk) 15:13, 11 December 2013 (EST)
Somehow it's STILL not doing anything. Am I using the wrong ROM? I'm using Diddy Kong Racing (U) (M2) (V1.0) [!].z64.
That's strange, I'm using the exact same ROM and the code is working for me. I even took a picture of the unused Wizpig door, but Project 64 likes to make the pictures JPG.
Maybe you should reset the emulator with the cheat active? I have no idea what to do for you. :/--Goomther (talk) 16:32, 11 December 2013 (EST)

Hidden Area

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJsWLWByZGU

Something I discovered not too long ago in the hub world. I'm not sure if it's worth mentioning in the article.

There is one side of the levels and unused minimaps. One idea for the show at the same time and whether they match?

Texture Rip

SubDrag has released a texture rip for this game. It can be found here: http://goldeneyevault.com/priv/dkr.zip

It contains all textures from the Early Objects video on the page (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OSIDVpAOW7M), and probably a good amount of other unused textures as well. I know almost nothing about this game, so hopefully someone familiar with the content can do a proper comparison. Here are a few seemingly unused textures I pulled while skimming through the rip. http://puu.sh/7YWSR.png M64m (talk) 21:50, 6 April 2014 (EDT)

Part of the DKR team has developed Dinosaur Planet (N64). I met placeholders that can be found on the Starfox Adventures demo disc. http://abload.de/img/placeholders4bczv.jpg --Gilgamesh (talk) 13:11, 15 April 2014 (EDT)

I ranked the placeholders found in Starfox Adventures kiosk, you can compare with those of Diddy Kong Racing. [[1]] --Gilgamesh (talk) 05:10, 21 April 2016 (EDT)

Further Oddities

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sPMUVjLjoEI

A Youtuber by the name of RadSpyro posted a video with quite a few intriguing things. Notably, it claims Hot Top Volcano's pterodactyl is programmed with the default boss AI, and that funny looking snowballs which track your movements still exist in the games coding. I have a feeling some of it may be relevant. Crashandcortex (talk) 06:43, 31 May 2014 (EDT)

Unreachable Gold Balloon

If I'm not mistaken, there was mention at AGDQ 2015 that there is an unused gold balloon beneath a stage (mentioned on the stage with the dragon boss fight). I can't say it's that stage for sure. I'm sure it's researchable though. --Stark Nebula (talk) 19:25, 4 January 2015 (EST)

Unused Graphics

A German video finally allows to locate the small logo DKR-logo small.png in Greenwood Village. The version of the game is subtitled "VERSION 1.964". If someone can date this version, he posts his information.

Unlock All Cheats

Gilgamesh gave me some codes for the original US version that unlock every cheat that was coded into the game.

US code:

800DFD9C FFFF
800DFD9D FFFF
800DFD9E FFFF
800DFD9F FFFF

European code:

800DFE2C FFFF
800DFE2D FFFF
800DFE2E FFFF
800DFE2F FFFF

--From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 04:53, 31 May 2016 (EDT)

These also unlock a few glitch cheats though. They have gibberish names and do nothing. I think 1FFFFFFF is the correct value to unlock all actual cheats. (talk) 12:12, 5 August 2017 (EDT)

Pterodactyl boss reference in the Nintendo Power Guide?

I don't have a copy of the guide so I can't verify this, but apparently the official Nintendo Power Diddy Kong Racing Player's Guide by Leslie Swan "has a hint on one page implying if you follow this pterodactyl in a plane, you'll find a secret." If anyone has a copy of the guide could they please post up a scan of the page in question so we can get a bit more context for this?

Following the pterodactyls doesn't do anything in the final game as far as I know, but maybe the guide was written based off a prerelease version of the game where it did do something. The final game does include an unused model of the pterodactyl with all the same animation states as the Smokey the Dragon boss (it seems to be a different model file from the decorative ones that hover around the tracks), and it also includes an unused snowy version of the Dino Domain boss course intended for a flying boss, so maybe the secret the guide's referring to might have been a bonus boss race against this mysterious Miss Terry? I think the pterodactyls only appear in Fossil Canyon, Jungle Falls, and Hot Top Volcano, so presumably the guide was talking about one of those levels. Of those tracks, Hot Top Volcano (the only one that's a plane track by default) infamously contains a strange out-of-bounds warp zone that crashes the game in v1.0 releases. This is just speculation but maybe that warp is there because you could once follow a pterodactyl to a hidden exit in an earlier design of Hot Top Volcano (perhaps behind one of the lavafalls), which brought you to the unused boss race?
