Eggsucker

In case any one wants to help out, einstein95 found the original game on an university website. --From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 00:15, 22 December 2014 (EST)

I compared provided 1.0 and Steam's 2.71. I started with ./Images. It seems identical (by size) except for two files: title.jpg and waitbar.gif. Title.jpg have "Deluxe" added. waitbar.gif isn't present in 1.0. I think waitbar is related to "check for updates" feature, that isn't present in Steam version either, due to partner.xml. 1.0 doesn't have ./properties at all. Steam version doesn't have ./Stomped folder, but as fas as I know, original (serial-number) 2.71 had this folder. I'm not sure about non-steam 60 mins version, but it probably contains that folder. ./data is completly different in those two versions. It seems like they reworked the whole font system for internationalization. ./music is same ./sounds is almost same except for two things. First is that ticktock.ogg is louder and less in size in steam 2.71. Second thing is that in steam version, all the ogg files are converted to wav files under "cached_*.wav" name, when you run the game. Now onto the root folder. This one varies alot from version to version, and I'm not sure if I got all the stuff in root, since I deleted wraper related stuff in steam version right after I cracked it, but in a nutshell: Dynomite.exe is diffrent (duh), and got a different icon (side-note: it looks like Steam version got same icon as serial 2.71, but not like 60-min 2.71, which got egg-shaped egg. 1.0 got less colors in it.), also there's bass.dll instead of fmod.dll, Default.egg is different (3 new levels added in 1.20?), Readme.txt is now Readme.html. As for in-game stuff, I didn't looked much, but option menu is different due to shrekt partner.xml. That's all for today. --Egor305 (talk) 11:47, 31 January 2015 (EST)

Hi again. So I decided to look into default.egg, and I found all differences faster that I was thinking I would. There's 3 new stomped puzzle levels, right before 4 last ones. This is done in 1.20.
So in 1.0, last levels are:
 Pretty Pattern
 Think Fast!
 Castle Dynomite
 Eggtrap!
 Ultimate Eggs
in 2.71 those are:
 Pretty Pattern
 Ricochet
 The squeeze
 Honeycomb
 Think Fast!
 Castle Dynomite
 Eggtrap!
 Ultimate Eggs
Level pack name is changed from "Dynomite Default" to "DEFAULT", probably right when they removed the editor. Level "Stalagcities" is now called "Stalactities".
also, gonna just leave a changelog here, just in case:
 2.71 Enhancements
 2.70 Bug fixes, cosmetics
 2.01 Minor bug fix
2.00 Consolidation of small cosmetic changes into V2.0
 1.55 Fixed Save-Game bug
1.20 Bug and cosmetic fixes, multiplied all scoring by 10, added 3 new Stomped levels (Hard difficulty).
1.10 Fixed some crash bugs, and added the Lock Cursor option
 1.00 Initial release!

So I decided to compare 60min against steam revisions of dynomite.exe, w/o wrapper. PE header tells me that only section that changed in size is .rsrc (resources). First and only difference in .rdata (constant data): "94220414" (60min) -> "92755288" (steam). Remember how I said that steam uses original 2.71 icon, while 60min is not? Well, that's one of the differences. 60mins exe is signed at 19 ‎Feb ‎2008 21:13:12 by PopCap and VeriSign, unlike steam. Also 60mins got an XML file in it's resources for microsoft's game explorer thingy [1]. That's it. Over-all it looks like steam is older than 60min (btw, I got it in 2012), and it makes sense, because 30 Aug, 2006 is release date on steam. I'm pretty sure that steam version is first 60 minutes revision, but it never got updated. I think that they added new icons and game explorer in one update. Signature might have been added as a separate update, but that's unlikely. So the timeline is something like this: 2003 = 2.71, 2004-2006 = steam/old 60min, 2007-2008 = 60min with final signature, 2008-2014 = still avaiable for download, 2014 = rip in pepperoni sweet prince. P.S. just compared serial and steam. Identical, except for the number in .rdata, in serial it's "55797184". --Egor305 (talk) 16:27, 3 February 2015 (EST)
Apparantly Windows Game Explorer requires exe to be signed. Case closed - all three changes were added in one update. --Egor305 (talk) 06:30, 5 February 2015 (EST)
Ok, I just found lots of old Dynomite versions, and also actuall Eggsucker. You can download them here: [2]. --Egor305 (talk) 08:02, 6 February 2015 (EST)
