Debug Mode

Won't get to adding them myself until tomorrow or so, so someone else feel free to: Debug mode as per this old document of mine, just like for PPG's code; also has a code for the dev's Tom & Jerry game.

To access the menu, just go into a stage and press Start. The normal game options are replaced by the main debug menu.

US Text Dump

Kinda a text-dump from taking the US ROM and putting it into Ghidra, the text is a bit off in the ROM (Every 2-letter set is flipped. So "Earthworm Jim" would be "aEtrwhro miJ m". PAL Prototype?

There seems to be a prototype PAL ROM rescued after VIS went bankrupt ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UjhK39c5x1U ). Uploader has a website dedicated to prototypes but doesn't seem to have a ROM Dump of this -- Theballaam96 (talk) 01:29, 03 Jun 2020 (GMT)

PC version

I got curious and checked out the PC version - the Jibber Jabber script is present, but there's no way to switch the language on the GOG version as far as I can see. I also noticed some debug strings in the exe. I wasn't able to find any info on how to access this stuff anywhere, but figured it might be worth mentioning in case someone finds out about it. // Foxhack 23:15, 8 June 2015 (EDT)

Looking at the EXE, it looks like all the languages are still fully implemented, but there doesn't seem to be a designed way to activate any of them, but since all the other code looks to be there, I would imagine that it would be possible to hack multilanguage support back in. --Grandta13 (talk) 04:59, 9 June 2015 (EDT)
My guess is that the language is set by the original installer. But since the GOG version (and presumably the Steam one, as well) doesn't include it, the language can't be set. If only I had access to an original disc, I could check... // Foxhack 19:30, 9 June 2015 (EDT)

I just found an original ISO, and changing the language for the installer does not change the language of the game, I'll look into it some more to see if I can find anything.--Grandta13 (talk) 20:35, 9 June 2015 (EDT)

It's rather odd, they took time to translate the readme and installer into the other languages, but didn't include a way to change the language in game, though this version also includes all the languages, including Jibber-Jabber. --Grandta13 (talk) 22:23, 9 June 2015 (EDT)

Gravity Sucks

Alright, so, I found this, some time ago, and I thought it was worth mentioning.

In the Nintendo 64 version of the game, in the "Fear" hub level (somewhere in the basement, I believe), there some misaligned geometry that the player can fall through which leads to a bottomless pit and, of course, death. Aside from the fact that such a thing shouldn't happen, what makes this interesting is that, if the player does this, Jim (or Kim) can be heard yelling, "Gravity suuuuuuuuuuuuuuucks...!" before the player loses a life.

Now, it's been a while, since I've played this to completion... but, as far as I'm aware, all "voids" in the game kill the player right away; there's no "fanfare" and Jim(/Kim) doesn't make a quip. The player just loses a life. That gap in geometry is the only place in the game where Jim(/Kim) acknowledges the bottomless pit as being bottomless. But, I could very easily be misremembering.
