I don't think this should count as "unused". These tracks are used in GP mode aren't they? All the code does is force it to load them in practice mode, which for whatever reason is not normally allowed... 00:56, 5 March 2012 (EST)

They are used in GP mode. However, they also have their own unique entries in the list of available practice tracks, but the game doesn't allow them to be selected (GP mode and practice mode use separate track lists). --BMF54123 01:08, 5 March 2012 (EST)
It's still the same track, right? Different indices or not, if the map geometry is identical, then it is indeed used. --M&L27 (talk) 20:31, 5 July 2015 (EDT)
Regardless whether the track's data is a duplicate (I don't know), the programing to select it in practice mode would count as unused.Theclaw (talk) 22:34, 5 July 2015 (EDT)

Energy Ship's Vehicle Recentering Function

I'd argue that the Vehicle Recentering function is kind of unused. I don't think the shortcut was deliberately put there. If it were, they failed to put them frequently throughout the game. I think both Port towns have it (they have a similar layout), possibly a White Land level, but I'm not sure about that one. Either way, I think it's more like those Mario Kart 64 shortcuts that are obscure and hard to find. Not a deliberate shortcut like those in the SNES Mario Kart game. I have no idea what the function of the vehicle recentering could serve tho. Maybe to catch the player if he got too close to the side of the track after a jump, but far as I know this only happens when you take the shortcut.--MathUser 23:06, 1 April 2013 (EDT)
