Unused music

I'm pretty sure FBEAR22 was used as the intro music for the PC demo version of this game. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Sintendo (talk • contribs) 20:43, 29 October 2013

I just checked and you're right. Wonder why they bothered putting it in the 3DO version? Supper (talk) 00:08, 30 October 2013

"Dear Me..."

I just checked this out on both the DOS and Windows versions, and the line was played in full. Is this something exclusive to the 3DO version? --Legoking831 (talk) 16:29, 17 November 2013 (EST)

That's strange. Only the first part plays on my Windows version and the updated DOS version that comes packed with it, with both ScummVM and the original interpreter. What's the timestamp on your .HE2 file? The versions I have are both marked 9/21/1998. (Also, the 3DO version plays the whole thing) Supper (talk) 16:49, 17 November 2013 (EST)
Mine comes out of the Humongous Classics Collection (it also has Putt Parade and Putt Moon), and is timestamped with 2/7/1995. The size of my HE2 file is 9,957 bytes if that is any help. I get the idea it was a re-release from Infogrames, because I have a standalone version of FF1 I recently acquired with their logo on the jewel case and with timestamps of 2001, but internally it looks like the exact same thing as the 1998 version. --Legoking831 (talk) 18:06, 17 November 2013 (EST)
The kilobyte size of your HE2 matches my Windows version's, but there might still be a difference if the only change is the extra chunk header in my version that cuts the line off. See if the exact size of your HE2 is 10,195,172 bytes. You might also try running HEErip on it and checking the log file for a line like "encountered a PETE chunk at 4479733, concatenating to existing sample data". If it's not there, this is pretty clearly a revisional difference. Unfortunately, I got my copy of the game off some web site years ago (much to my regret, my mom gave away most of my old game CDs when I was 12), so it'll take some digging to figure out exactly which version this changed in. I see that it says Humongous Entertainment didn't own the rights to Fatty Bear where does this information come from? as i can't seem to find anything else online about them not owning the right or who did --Mrkoolnerd (talk) 03:47, 9 September 2021 (UTC)
