Talk:Golden Axe (Genesis)

There are three ROM revisions. REV01 described here is actually REV02, a.k.a. the version found as a Sega Classic release in the U.S. in mid-1992, with the ROM chip labeled "MPR-14930". The big problem here is, there's no Game Genie region bypass code found yet, and SEGA-16 and Assembler and SEGAbits have been a real pain in the patoot for me (as in, no one is willing to help me -- SEGA-16's moderators are too lazy to activate my account, and folks on Assembler and SEGAbits are instead suggesting I buy a region-key converter cartridge or open up my console to install region switches... and that is precisely what I do NOT want to do at present).
I have the actual REV02 cartridge of Golden Axe plus a tough-to-find ROM download.
The real REV01 is the same as the later REV02, corrected dialogue and all, but with the Sega Logo having a registered trademark instead of a regular trademark and the Sega Logo Screen drawing itself as it did in REV00 (my copy of REV00 being in a Japan release)... and no region lock. I should know. Personal experience.
But, besides the point. Can someone, for the love of God and all that is holy, find a Game Genie region bypass code for REV02?

- Tony Hedstrom at gamehacking.org finds those type of codes. Put in a code request in their forums.--DarkScimitar (talk) 20:29, 20 June 2016 (EDT)
