Anti-Piracy

It seems very strange that the routines aren't implemented, but currently there's a lot of evidence that's the case:

  • No signs of programming that stores #$09 or #$0A to RAM address $7E1AF9.
  • Searching for programming matching DKC2 or DKC3 turns up no results.
  • The Stack Test and RAM Tests (see DKC2 and DKC3 pages) that would make use of the SRAM strings would need to be run shortly after boot, before the game clears RAM for its own use, but there's no signs of this.
  • GoodSNES database has no entries listing F (Fix).
  • Nothing turns up on Google of people encountering the anti-piracy screens due to using game enhancers, dirty cartridge contacts, dying save battery, etc.
