Unused Movies

So I'm screwing around with riivolution and KRD and I decided to look into some of those movies. So far I think movie_0802 is an unused loading screen, but I'll have to do more tests to confirm that. There are alternate versions of the beginning and end sequences that I need to check out next so I'll be looking into those. Tanks 01:58, 8 September 2012 (EDT)

Replacing these files with Riivolution didn't work. It caused endless loading screen. But editing the name of movies in RAM works well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8SxIXYmCd-0 Here is unused movies. Chromatin (talk) 04:33, 6 March 2014 (EST)

Unused Kirby Colors? o_O

Correct me if I'm wrong but... KRD doesn't have Green, Yellow, and Red Kirby anywhere in game right? I don't even remember them in the minigames. I glitched the game using riivolution and I did a forced reset. It took me back to the title and it loaded kirby with his yellow textures. It was too perfect for it not too be a simple glitch. Green, Yellow, and Blue are options in multiplayer, but not Red Kirby. --Mattrizzle 02:42, 8 September 2012 (EDT)
Yeah I don't think there's a Red... That was more just an assumption. I'll keep my eye out though. Tanks 10:46, 8 September 2012 (EDT)

Development

I heard somewhere that Kirby's Return to Dreamland had a development cycle of 11 years, starting after Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards. Would that be true? Also, the many failed attempts to make a new Kirby were brought together to make Return to Dreamland. If I no make sence, this video should help you understand what i'm saying. Go to around 2:07 in the video. --Vectrex (talk) 19:40, 2 December 2013 (EST)

Yes, the game started out as a GameCube game. --AquaBat (talk) 21:13, 2 December 2013 (EST)
From what I understand, the three canceled GameCube games were actually unrelated, but this game seems to use assets from each of them (mostly the first). There were radically different gameplay ideas for a successor to Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, but apparently none of them quite reached the level of quality they needed. They basically kept starting from scratch and experimenting with what they felt worked. LinkTheLefty (talk) 00:12, 3 December 2013 (EST)
I'm not too familiar with it, I'm just confirming it based on what the booklet that came with Kirby's Dream Collection: Special Edition says. Apparently they felt explaining the three cancelled games being meshed together to serve as building blocks for one final game was too complicated. --AquaBat (talk) 00:28, 3 December 2013 (EST)

the three canceled GameCube games didn't even have titles did they? and they should have pages i think mrkoolnerd

Level Editor

There seems to be a basic working editor of Kirby's Return to Dream Land.

Unused Sound Effects

These need to be ripped from the game and properly added to the article as OGGs:

Hitbox Viewer

How exactly are we supposed to enable the debug hitbox Viewer? Is there a Gecko code for it, or do we have to make use of file replacement?--Blazingflare (talk) 07:00, 2 November 2014 (EST)

Default Copy Abilities

Shouldn't the default copy ability textures go under the unused abilities section? They're called abilities after all. I'm also wondering if they were supposed to be used when you entered a portal, since you can't bring any normal or super abilities with you; that would explain why it would return you to normal and why there's a version for both normal and super abilities, but I don't want to add speculation to the page.--KirbyFan97 (talk) 10:48, 21 June 2015 (EDT)

Egg Engines Stage 4 Background

Would it be worth mentioning that the background in Egg Engines 4 (the sewer level) appears to be an entire level from the Gamecube game? You can tell if you look closely that there's a starting point, platforms to jump onto, a wide-open circular area likely for a miniboss fight, and then a clear end. It also uses textures beginning with "gr", which is shared by other maps from the Gamecube game.
