Dr. Light / Right name

Both the "L" and "R" marks are present in the game's data, so it is not due to a lack of "L" in Japanese language, but a conscious choice from the makers, like "Mega Man" and "Rockman" (which are also both present in the data). His name is always written with R in Japan, and it is his mark: RockBoard opening RW (Right & Wily) mark (also in-game in MM3, where he was mistakenly named Wright) DRN series (manga), ... And to further prove that the makers are aware of the R/L difference, take Crash Man / Clashman as example: His name is with "L" in Japan, as seen in Rockman 2, his Rockman & Forte CD data, and the new Super Smash Bros. video (En / Jp), but "R" overseas. --Metalman (talk) 01:08, 26 August 2014 (EDT)

You misunderstand. The Japanese language itself does not have an 'L' in it. Even the 'R' in Japanese is a phoneme that does not occur in English. So saying that "Dr. Light is known as Dr. Right in Japan" is what I'm taking issue with. There's only one choice in romaji, and that is an 'R', since there is no 'L' in romaji.
He's known as ライト in Japan. Anything rendered into the Latin alphabet from that is going to choose the 'R' by convention, so it's inaccurate to say that he's "known as Dr. Right in Japan". However, saying "his name is written with an 'R'" would not be. That is the issue I have, it's about the wording. I am not trying to deny that there is difference in its orthography.
Also, there's no need to post the same question to both the article's talk page and mine. Please keep the discussion here so that people can follow it. If someone does not respond to a question on a talk page after a few days, it's fine to leave a note on their talk page pointing it out, but discussions about the content of an article should remain on that article's talk page so that other people can follow it more easily.

No, Rock Board's title was more of a translation, and an administrator agreed with that decision. A transliteration would be "raito", and if that title were to be transliterated, it would be "wairī & raito no rokkubōdo: zattsu paradaisu". Leaving one word in there written in the Japanese style while leaving the rest written in English style simply looks odd. Please leave that change intact. --Bast (talk) 02:09, 26 August 2014 (EDT)

Console-specific music differences

Both "We're the Robots" and the Wily Machine theme have a slight difference on the X360 version compared to the Wii and PS3 releases. As far as I am aware, this oddity has never been officially acknowledged. The former uses a 12.5% pulse for its lead instrument and a 25% pulse for the lead support instrument during parts of the track in the Wii/PS3 releases, most notably the intro/verse, while the X360 version uses a 25% pulse for both the lead and lead support. Inversely, the Wii/PS3 release uses a 25% pulse lead and a 12.5% pulse lead support for the Wily Machine theme's intro, while the X360 release uses a 12.5% pulse for both the lead and the lead support. I can't provide clean exports of the music myself, so I won't add it to the main page, but the differences can be heard in the following videos (links are timestamped to We're the Robots, timestamp for Wily Machine theme is wrote afterwards):

The Legacy Collection 2 re-release seems to be based off of the X360 release, as it uses the X360 variants of both tracks.

Unused track

A friend of mine pointed out that the PS3 release of Mega Man 9 contains an unused track - to quote, "i used dragonunpacker on the bgm_mid in the game to find the tracks, 129-132 is the unused track".
