Controller 2?

Is controller 2 used anywhere in the game, besides the Cx4 menu test stuff? --JLukas 07 October 2010

In this case, searching for anything that reads memory address 7E00AF. A quick and easy way to find what memory addresses hold controller buttons in a game is to use the cheat search in an emulator. Use a "not equal to previous value" search each time you open the cheat window as you hold down different buttons on controller 2. --JLukas 08:04, 7 October 2010 (EDT)

Unfortunately no. From what I've seen in the code, the only thing that reads from the 2P controller is the C4 chip check. It was probably removed. It may be in the Japanese version, but it's definitely not in the NA revision.

Quite high of a price, I must say, but it seems the seller's aware it's rare. Odd how the title screen partially spells out the month the prototype was compiled unlike the currently dumped prototype (the seller's proto is from August 8, but the dumped proto is from August 23). Very tough to say whether it's real since the seller doesn't have a cart picture and only is showing the title screen.
The seller responded to my email request for a pic of the board. A quick Google Images search didn't return any matches. Based on that, it's likely the seller took this pic. https://imgur.com/a/ih3Lf
In the email, the seller said: "The board is completely different in terms of what was released in retail game. This board is larger and doesn't fit into any standard SNES or Super Famicom case. You'd have to create a custom one for it if you wanted it encased. These type of boards companies used for testing and displays, where they would reprogram or flash the chips on the board with any new data. This one came from Capcom of Japan. Yeah, it is legit. However, he's been trying to sell it for many months now, and at that definitely too high of a price (an evaluation based firmly on actual sales of other pre-final X series prototypes over the past two or so years). The fact that a prototype dated just two weeks after his has been freely shared should also be considered when valuing this one. Vertical Boss Shutter
