Debug Mode

Has anybody found out how to get to debug mode yet?--Joe411 13:14, 13 June 2013 (EDT)

No, but I found some unused levels. --Yoshimaster96 (talk) 19:22, 27 April 2014 (EDT)
How did you access said unused levels?

I found a set of addresses that toggle various Debug related DIP switches, and they line up with SMB1's DIP switches. The addresses are:

2C250108

2C228084

When you freeze those addresses and set them to various, seemingly random values (make sure you set the two to the same value, that's what I found works), various Debug DIPs will be toggled depending on what value you set both to. So far, I've found:

DIP_STCOLI
DIP_TRIANGLE
DIP_SARU_0
DIP_TIME_STOP
DIP_APE_FACEDIR

These all do exactly what they do in SMB1, and this is hopefully another step towards finding the full Debug Menu.

Now, keep in mind, this is probably the absolute messiest way of toggling these DIP switches, and I think a cleaner way of toggling these should be searched for.

I also do not have screenshots of these in action (well, I do, but they do not fit this wiki's requirements). I'll get around to it eventually though.

On top of that, Button 1 (which isn't normally on a Monkey Ball cab) can be used as a confirm button in the menus, but nothing else, not for changing the minimap size, not for skipping Goal replays, etc. So I think Button 1 should be kept in consideration when searching for ways to access the Debug Menu. --SomeBoredHuman (talk) 23:00, 21 May 2018 (EDT)
