If you're curious about the translation, here's one I came up with:

  • 通信テストモードです - This is Communications Test Mode
  • 量産製品テスト - Retail Version Test
  • JATEテスト - JATE Test; presumably referring to these people.
  • 擬似ホストモード - Fake host mode
  • デフォルトIDセット - Default ID set
  • パスワード確認のスキップ - Password Check Skip

Might not be related to a debug mode to be honest. --From: divingkataetheweirdo 14:55, 20 April 2012 (EDT)

It looks like it might've been for testing the Internet connectivity feature, though. The other Japanese text in the ROM refers to modem/internet stuff as well. -- Sheeza 14:57, 20 April 2012 (EDT) (addendum: the actual text used by the game is probably 1. compressed and 2. custom-encoded, and not euc-jp like the debug text, so they can be distinguished easily)
Oh, I wasn't aware of that until now. =P Sorry about that. Also, Taikyoku Kaishi likely isn't a developer's name; I think Taikyoku Kaishi would be written as "対局開始" and that might mean "Begin Game". --From: divingkataetheweirdo 15:14, 20 April 2012 (EDT)
Hmm, that too is a possibility. It's just a bit weird since it's the only romaji text I've found so far. -- Sheeza 15:25, 20 April 2012 (EDT)
