We should see if its in the arcade game first, so then we can see if the test level is simply carried over from the arcade. Also, a link to the website where you found this information would help TheRoflGuy (talk) 13:30, 25 September 2014 (EDT)

It's more likely that it would be in the PS1 version, since the PS1 version came out in 2001, while the arcade version came out in 2003 --Timothy timjim (talk) 17:45, 2 November 2014 (EST)

Early version

I have a screenshot of the game, which looks like it's from early version of the game.

It doesn't seem like much of a difference from the released version, although there's no boost bar, you have to do 5 laps on each race, and the graphics seem smoother. I also noticed there are a few of these pictures on IGN, and they were all dated May 9, 2000, which is a few months before the official release.

Misc. studies

I've been poking around at stuff for the past few days (possibly even week) and I finally decided to write it down in a document like I've been meaning to.
