Out of Date

I think the "unused graphics" and "unused game modes" is a little bit out of place, since these are used. They are even easter eggs, not even the kind with sound test/debug mode/level select features, and this wiki usually covers unused content. Maybe also regional differences. Otherwise this page is just a placeholder page, unless there's some actual content (regional differences might be a good start). Could any moderator look into this issue and take the approriate decisions? The preceding unsigned comment was added by Montas1992 (talk • contribs)

I suggest that this page should be deleted. Nothing mentioned on this page qualifies as unused content. --AttackedbyGlitch 18:24, 28 December 2012 (EST)

StreetPass Mii Plaza

I just took note of this page, although I did put a section in this main page that describes a good portion of what the linked page already does mention. Should StreetPass Mii Plaza have its own dedicated page, or should all of it just get merged on this page? --Team Fail (talk) 15:42, 23 August 2015 (EDT)

I think it should have its own dedicated page. Even though it's pre-loaded software, it's still a game. It's also got those six DLC games. -Ehm (talk) 18:34, 23 August 2015 (EDT)

New 3DS Web Browser Developer tools?

Someone needs to check this out and see if the thread below is valid or if it's all bullshit. I can't because I don't have a *new* 3DS.

Huh. It actually works. It prompts me to download a zip file at a certain IP to load the tools. (Presumably the NN3DS's IP) I would test it but I'm on university wifi and it won't go through. Robotortoise (talk) 02:27, 10 October 2015 (EDT)
Good to know that it isn't bullshit. I think it's something that should be added to the main page. It would be great if someone tested it further though. --Cuber456 (talk) 13:32, 10 October 2015 (EDT)

GBA Emulation on New 3DS

Would the GBA emulator included in the GBC Virtual Console function better at the New 3DS clock speed (804 MHz)?

Also, is there a certain configuration needed to run the GBA ROMS in the emulator? It always crashes for me, so I haven't been able to test this myself. --Dasutein (talk) 12:58, 17 May 2016 (CST)

ErrorDisp

I do have an image of it in action, but I took the picture with my tablet AND it's jpeg. However, I do know how to do it for anyone with the Luma3DS CFW (and hopefully a capture card for a clean picture)

1. Download the dev version of Luma3DS v5.4 (not 5.5!)

2. Hold Select when booting Luma3DS

3. Enable the Developer Features option

4. Trigger a crash

--Khang06 (talk) 08:01, 1 June 2016 (EDT)

It looks like a screenshot was uploaded for UNITINFO, but it's showing Luma3DS's error handler instead of the official ErrDisp. ---GerbilSoft (talk) 10:38, 2 June 2018 (EDT)

Interesting Nintendo DSi Browser Behavior

I recently installed the DSi browser through homebrew, and I found a peculiar behavior. When choosing to setup a connection in-game, it will actually take you to the Internet Settings section in System Settings! What makes this even more interesting is that this app isn't even available on the 3DS! I don't know if this is notable or not, I just wanted to share this. Simple Start Wi-Fi

Going into the DS wifi setup's Simple-start wifi mode through the system settings, I get a screen without any text, however if I enter through Mario Kart DS, there is text instructions etc. in the Simple Start mode.

The text on the top screen reads: "Connect easily to a Simple Start Wi-Fi compatible access point."

The bottom screen says "Please wait a moment" then, "Awaiting Simple Start Wi-Fi connection. Press the Simple Start Wi-Fi button."

Since there (of course) isn't a Simple Start compatable router a get a message box saying "Simple Start Wi-Fi setup failed."

(I have a UK 3DS with a UK copy of Mario Kart DS)

Nontransferable DSi games

Pretty much what the title says, there are a small number of games that can't be transferred from the DSi to the 3DS, should it be noted here/elsewhere? Official page here TrainerX493 (talk) 13:05, 19 February 2019 (EST)

Recovery mode/boot into game mode on kiosk

So a couple of years ago, I was at a store, and they had a kiosk with a new 2ds xl. It was in it's "demo mode (whatever the thing the kiosk 3dses do where they show clips of a game, in this case Mario kart 7. I tried to do either the boot into game or the recovery mode button combo, and something that doesn't happen on a retail 3ds happened.( I don't really remember, but I think that it just ignored it and rebooted into the kiosk demo thing.) -Bomba1749

eShop Payment Options

I have a 3DS with access to the Japanese e-shop and I was looking to take screenshots of the various things listed under this section, but fumbling around I can't seem to see obvious signs of Apple Pay, etc being available. I don't know Japanese at all so I believe this may be more up to me just not knowing what I'm doing, and since google translate's camera feature refuses to work on the text on the 3DS' screen... I'm going to need someone who knows Japanese enough to help me navigate through this and document it before the removal of Credit Cards and other payment options from the e-shop in January. -- Luna (talk) 01:44, 1 December 2021 (UTC)

Updating this, I was just an idiot and didn't realize the eShop was asking for my age, and I figured out that gTranslate's camera mode wasn't working because I had the languages flipped in order, so it was scanning for English to translate into Japanese, haha... I added a bunch of info about NFC payments to the main page. -- Luna (talk) 17:16, 20 December 2021 (UTC)
