Shiny Mew copy and paste from Gold/Silver and Crystal pages

I can see as to why this text would be copied to Crystal, but in Stadium 2 it can turn out to be "legal". If you manage to catch a shiny Ditto (in RBY or GSC), once you Transform into an opponent's Pokemon, you will actually be its shiny variant (even if the opponent is a normal colored Pokemon). Haven't tested this out on the Unown letters yet though, so it'll be fun to check and see if some of the impossible shiny letters will appear. ShadowMario3 (talk) 01:46, 26 January 2015 (EST)

  • Shiny Mew should probably be removed then, seeing as it is used. --FSX (talk) 17:59, 3 March 2015 (EST)
However, there is a seperate glitch in the Gen I games called the [Assumption] glitch. If a Pokémon uses Transform, it is considered to be a Ditto in Generation I. Since the other Pokémon needs to use Transform for the glitch, it will only result in a Shiny Ditto. --Sgv Sth (talk) 23:31, 3 March 2015 (EST)
As the IVs of a Pokémon are pseudo-randomly generated when generated through the Ditto Glitch, Shiny Mew is possible. I think it should be removed from the article. Also, is there any proof that the first person in line at the Mystery Mew distribution would receive a Shiny Mew in 3rd gen? Afaik, this Pokémon follow the BACD algorithm with a restricted seed (the initial seed is between 0x0000 and 0xFFFF, meaning there's only 65536 possible Mew PIDs. And afaik the distribution cartridges used for generating these Events reroll the PRNG if a Shiny mon would be generated (like the 10ANNIV ROM I dumped at the 2006 Paris event). These cartridges fill any free room in the Player's Party with the selected mon, generating one mon after the other. --Froggy25 (talk) 08:41, 18 March 2015 (EDT)

Additional Info on Debug Functions

So, what I have found out was that using an Everdrive 64 V2.0 and using the ROM of that game with the debug menu that has debugger as an option (The one that crashes on emulators) is that I can only get the menu to pop up. It displays a no controller even though I had all 4 1st party controllers plugged in upon startup. Because it doesn't accept input, I have to wait until the title screen starts. Only then could I press that combination of buttons to display it. The Gym Leader Castle and the Trainer Debug all work fine, though I only tested Red. I either need a gameshark, or need a 3.0 Everdrive instead. If anybody has that, please investigate this. I found the must be on code needed to function. -Hexatendo (talk) 01:25, 10 December 2016 (EST)

Alternate Mew nickname colors

While it's known that you can put a nickname on a Pokemon for a chance to get a slightly alternate color, which is based on the nickname given and other factors, if it's not given one it'll just have its normal colors. Mew was only given out during distributions and, from what I could gather, has never been given a nickname in those times, but I'm not sure if that means its alternate Stadium 2 colors go unused...other than the one guy at the end of Round 1 Prime Cup. Even then that's only one of the possible alternates color schemes for a nicknamed Mew that I could find. Unless you used Trainer-Fly to catch one and nickname it yourself, it's impossible for an official Mew to have Stadium exclusive alternate colors. Can anyone test this? --Goomther (talk) 05:57, 2 June 2021 (UTC)
