Everything

Jesus, I mean...

First of all, the Golden RYNO was not a scrapped weapon of any kind, because any weapon in the game can become golden if we raise some values, this also changes the weapon's icon to a golden palette but it's all part of a game routine, the true litmus paper test would be these weapons acting any different than they normally do which isn't really the case as you mentioned. So I guess we can rule out any special behaviors in this or any other 'unused' gold weapon, unless you notice anything peculiar. Maybe you could change it to something like the remaining 5 weapons featuring an unfinished gold routine, but that's stretching it.

Second, not to sound like a smart ass, but I'm currently looking into the game for various stuff, and although most of the graphics being compressed (I'm also working on that) you can get the assets you want straight from the RAM (of course you will have to look for the palette first), so these stretched, non even software rendered screens are out of place IMO. I will create a new revision for the chicken icon you posted, but please, for now, keep your research confined here or in your user page, so to avoid any more misleading data leaking on the main page.

Third, I guess you come from the R&C Wikia or something? They have an inexplicable boner on using past tense where it's not due, for some reason. Like "Novalis was a planet in the Solana galaxy", or "the Bouncer was a Megacorp weapon". Why would you use was if the planet and weapon are currently, canonically okay? This rant aside, here's your case:

The Gold R.Y.N.O. was the cut gold version of the R.Y.N.O. The weapon could only be obtained through hacking or using a cheat device. The only difference from the regular R.Y.N.O. was the icon and the texture.

If you suspect something was supposed to be implemented and then it didn't you have all the right to use past tense, but when referring to something like hacking the game which can be done at any time your use past tense does not carry any meaning. Thank you for understanding and sorry for the bitching. If I was supposed to post this on your discussion page then I'm really asking for trouble.--Capelino (talk) 10:26, 21 July 2015 (EDT)

1: ANYTHING is counted unused if it cannot be obtained by regular gameplay means. This includes value changing.
2: Never kills to get more proper textures.
3: kek at the "inexplicable boner" part, but if you feel as if it should be rewritten, then by all means, go ahead. TCRF for the most part is freely editable if you want to edit. --Donetsu52 (talk) 12:50 21 July 2015 (CST)

How would I extract data from the game?

I really want to help out. (Also because I'm curious) What methods are used for exploring the game's files/ripping data? --Shoopdahoop (talk) 15:43, 31 July 2015 (EDT)

A Google search and patience can help with that. I don't mean to sound like an obnoxious captain obvious, but that's basically what I had to do for Sonic Adventure 2. There's bound to be tools for analyzing PS2 games, you just gotta find them. There's also probably tools for Ratchet and Clank specifically that you may need.
Also, when on talk pages, please remember to sign your posts. Thanks. -- SpiritixSwampert.gif Spiritix (talk) 03:02, 29 July 2015 (EDT)

Hidden Files?

Hello, can you please tell me what tool can extract Ratchet & Clank PS2 ISO's? I'd like trying some modding but that shit has hidden files on his ISO and on my disc too, I searched long time but can't find the correct tool, can you help me please? Thanks Oh and btw, it's possible to replace hidden files? I know you can do it with normal files, but not sure with hidden files :P --Got4n (talk) 08:28, 7 August 2015 (EDT)

I might be onto something. There's this disk utility called WinDirStat, and if F7 (Show Unknown) is pressed...

...It shows a hidden 3.9 gigabyte file! I don't know if there's a way to extract this file, but it might help. --Shoopdahoop (talk) 17:48, 25 September 2015 (EDT)

The game data is not actually stored inside a file, it's just there on the disc right after the I/O driver (.IMG) file. You need to use a hex editor to rip the content out of the disc into a usable form. Also, there is no filename. -- ManDude (talk) 10:13, 20 March 2016 (EDT)

You should make a tutorial on how to rip the content from the disc. I would highly appreciate it. --Shoopdahoop (talk) 15:13, 12 June 2016 (EDT)

Debug Menu

The page for Going Commando says a debug menu for R&C1 can be accessed by "changing the mode value."

Does ANYBODY know how to access that debug menu? I would highly appreciate it! --Shoopdahoop (talk) 14:39, 6 February 2016 (EST)
