Renaming the page

I want to add some things but before I do I'd like to rename the page to just Resident Evil 4 without the Gamecube modifier on the end. My reasoning is that most of the hidden stuff in this game can be found in all versions so I don't see a reason to have separate pages for each console version. It'd be better to have one main page and then a separate page for console-specific content when more of that is added to the page. Am I okay to rename it? To rename a page you need to move it. I'll do it, but are you sure that most unused content can be found in all versions? -Phrossi (talk) 20:38, 17 February 2017 (EST)

Yes, although most of what's on the page right now is Gamecube specific. The things I want to add I found in the Wii version but I know they would be in all other versions as well. Would you rather wait until more content is added before moving it? Subsmoke (talk) 20:51, 17 February 2017 (EST)

Looks like this was asked a few years back now, but I'd second the page being renamed without GameCube modifier too - seems the different ports mostly build on each other, so unused content from GC would still be included in the Wii version, and unused content from Wii was still included in X360/PS3, would probably all be best presented all under a single page. (anything that's only available in a later port could be easily explained with a "Found only on the XYZ version" sentence, rather than needing a separate page & all the unused stuff from the earlier ports getting copy-pasted around...) The note in the church

I was gathering footage for a video (hopefully posting this week) when I happened to read this page. I got curious about the note in the church so I used a noclip AR to go look and...It's just Playing Manual 3. Honestly not too surprising considering a lot of items you acquire have to be hidden out of bounds like that. HOWEVER there is something interesting in a few other out of bounds locations, such as Ada's Shotgun, homing mines (as their own separate item) and the gold prizes in the shooting gallery as well as the doors leading to all other shooting gallery locations. Debug menu in demo

According to codejunkies, there is a debug menu in a demo of this game. --Hiccup (talk) 07:16, 25 February 2018 (EST)

RE4 Demo Debug Menu
--Gilgamesh (talk) 10:22, 25 February 2018 (EST)

The Steam UHD release also contains a debug menu inside it, but it needs some code fixes to work, re4_tweaks can patch game to enable this for you. AFAIK the GC version had the menu stripped out after the demo release though sadly. Infogram (talk) 03:17, 6 January 2022 (UTC)

Enemy Dialogues

I heard the enemy speech in the demo is different from what is heard in the final game.

Like "Afuera verte" or something to that effect. Maybe there's also unused dialogue from the final game too?--KarlEleison (talk) 15:01, 24 October 2021 (UTC)

I am not too sure if the enemy dialogue is changed from the Demo to the Final, I will have a look into it at some point. Got more stuff to add to in this page.-SuperKonata (talk) 19:41, 24 October 2021 (GMT)

Unused stages in later re-release

The X360/PS3/UHD re-release includes a bunch of unused stages with it, these were previously mentioned in the GC/PS2 files, but the data for the stages themselves weren't made available until the X360/PS3/UHD ports

(maybe the re-release team didn't know that they could remove them, a similar thing happened with later Mass Effect re-releases including previously stripped out audio: https://tcrf.net/Mass_Effect#Audio_Leftovers)

Albert from the RE4HD project recently did a great video going over these stages & some explanation what the levels could have been for (his narration is in Spanish but there's English subs included: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tyoy2NPmXcY)

The unused stages include some debug test areas, some prototype block-out versions of final maps, and also some strangely polished desert/africa looking areas, Albert theorised those could have been for a cut Mercenaries-style expansion that might have been planned for the later releases, but there's also some evidence that they could be very early RE5 prototype maps too (https://www.re4hd.com/?p=9649#comment-202588)

Anyway since the page is marked as (GameCube) I'm not sure if it should be mentioned there or not, as mentioned above GC does include references to the stages, but not the data itself.
