I've just tested it on real hardware. It doesn't work there either. How should the page be edited to reflect this?

Old Archives of the Shantae Website on Archive.org

Archive.org's waybackmachine has an archive of the original Shantae page on WayForward's website from 2002. The website contains Concept art, wallpapers, Fan Art and even Sprite Sheets. I'm not familiar enough with the Original Shantae to say if any of the sprites in the sprite sheets are unused or anything like that.

Also if you go back to 1997 then you can find a page that is a gamespec on what Shantae was going to be at one point in time. It mentions that it was going to be a game for PC or Playstation, and has a completely different story then the final game. Also many early graphics (Shantae doesn't even have Purple hair at this time)

If I get the chance, I might add some of the 1997 site information to the Prerelease page
