"Hidden", used but non-purpose monitor?

I don't think this is documentated on here, yet, but I found this little monitor in the Final Showdown.

I found this normally in the game, that means no Game Genie codes or anything like that. And there's a message when you break it: 

XXX-XXX-XXX SFX...   DID YOU GET THAT???

So my question, what was this monitor's original purpose? SWPlaysMC (talk) 01:17, 4 April 2021 (UTC) BTW, this is from the US version.

The monitor itself reads as "見る" (to see). There are other hidden monitors too, for example, in the Powerhouse:

This was taken from the Master System version and has a slightly different appearance for each of the monitors. Seems like the "C" is for continues, Sonic for extra lives, and "見る" for seeing things. It's definitely an obscure thing, but I wouldn't say it's unused either. I's worth noting this was actually documented ages ago on Sonic Cult by Muttfox. --From: CounterDiving (talk) 01:48, 4 April 2021 (UTC)
