Sketch Sonic Video

@AttackedByGlitch That video was in Sonic CD PC so its technically not something worth uploading to the site. However I guess its worth mentioning... Tanks 21:56, 7 September 2012 (EDT)

==Pencil_Test.wmv==
A pencil test video showing a few early clips of the animated opening and a unique one of Sonic running, building into a roll. A lower quality video was used in the Sonic CD on the PC, however the higher quality one contained in this release goes completely unused.

I've removed the section for the time being until you can get proof its not used. I'm pretty sure it is in movie mode though... Tanks 01:59, 28 September 2012 (EDT)

Achievement files

I found something that might be worth adding. If you go to where Sonic CD is installed, go to your achievement files (Located in "(Name)_Swarm", then a folder called "wins") and open them in a program like Notepad++ the achievements read "CONGRATURATION! YOU SUCSESS! A WINRAR IS YOU!" Zeldaman101 12:16, 1 January 2013

[20:36] <Guess_Who> that Swarm file is only going to show up on pirated copies
[20:36] <Guess_Who> and mine is legit
[20:37] <andlabs> ok
[20:37] <andlabs> what is Swarm anyway
[20:37] <Guess_Who> (basically, Steam piracy things redirect calls to Steam to track achievements to a local folder)
[20:37] <andlabs> do other Swarm things have that message
[20:38] <andlabs> anyone else here know?
[20:38] <DustArma> the swarm file is not even there for most pirate copies
[20:38] <DustArma> it depends on the group that released it

Japanese

If the PC version has proper Japanese support, how exactly is it enabled? Steam language menu for this game didn't work. Not Steam's own setting either. I even tried AppLocale on the game exe. Theclaw 20:42, 19 May 2013 (EDT)

Proof that SonicCDWallpaperUnused.png was used on older versions of Sonic CD.

I have confirmation that SonicCDWallpaperUnused.png was used, but then was removed from the game. All photos are captured from real hardware (which is an iPad 1 running iOS 5.1.1)

"Corkscrew H" and "Corkscrew V" animations

I was editing Sonic's animations via a mod and found animations that are likely leftovers from the original Retro Engine. Neither have animations, and Corkscrew V doesn't have any sprites assigned to it. Corkscrew H, however, does have some sprites assigned to it, though said sprites are messed up probably due to the sheet used being changed.

Wait, Onan Games?

The fact that a picture of Onan Games is inside the port of Sonic CD is interesting.

Onan Games never worked on the port of Sonic CD, however they were known to focus on ports of games, which could mean that it was intended that Onan Games helped with the 2011 port.

[Weirdly enough, Onan Games was bought by Halfbrick Studios in 2012, a year after the release of the 2011 port of Sonic CD. Strange.]

September 14th update

Bizarrely, it seems that at least the Android version of the game was updated on September 14th, although nothing appears to have changed other than some ads being changed out. Update log states that there were "bug fixes".

Mobile "Ad-Supported" Update

Found out that when Sega Forever updated the game around either 2022 or 2023, they changed a few things when using "Ad-Supported" mode. The playable character starts with one live, the player gets a pop-up saying if they want to continue after getting a Game Over, (more is explained here.), etc. Is that something to edit the "Revisional Differences"?

Arc Files

The console and PC versions have arc files. So it would be a good idea to open them and look at their contents, since there may be cut content there. Better yet, tell how to open these files.
