Regarding the unused commands

ATRC_EN and TEST_EN... Hori's SGB Commander controller has special buttons to mute sound and adjust the game's speed, could this be what these commands correspond to? --MightyJAK 11:50, 12 January 2011 (EST)

Well, I wonder if the SGB even takes commands via a regular controller, since all of these SGB command packets have to be sent via the game boy's serial pins. As for attraction mode, it's really what the name suggests: it's the mode that is there to attract people, playing a little demo or whatnot. However, I am unaware of any game having a special SNES attraction mode at all... However, this might be trivial, since not too long ago, I testes bsnes and it emulated SGB better than any other emulator. So it might be testable in there, or might be seen from looking at the SGB bios. --Tauwasser 15:31, 12 January 2011 (EST)

Language regarding the unused commands

I removed "Sadly" from "Sadly two command packets controlling specific Super Game Boy enhanced features have never been used by any commercially released game" because their lack of use is not 'sad', especially when their functions are either unclear or not of any use to the public. --AcridAxid 23:33, 12 January 2011 (EST)

Super Game Boy Tech Demo Remnants

I have been browsing a score of Japanese games and have found identical packet listing setups and they appear to be remnants of a tech demo of sorts that likely Nintendo made to show off what capabilities the Super Game Boy has, and they are all unused in every game that I played for as long as I could take. First I will list the packet listing, then the games that have them listed. I was unable to find any additional information. Some games nullify the values and a few others seem to retain a few of the packets. I will not be listing said games, though I will list games with slight packet variations.

Things To Do

  • Obtain and document the SGB Demo or SDK used to show enhancements for game developers. Contact a developer or someone who might have one.
  • Obtain and document the sample program that distinguishes beween a SGB and SGB 2 model. This was included along with the official Game Boy Programming Manual.
  • Obtain and document a picture of the This game is Super Game Boy compatable and runs and SHVC program on your SNES label. Space Invaders is the only game that does sends a custom program and yet it does not show the label on the back of the box, so this this is unused.
  • Document the double BIOS speed bit setting.
  • Document other miscellany things.

Unused Region Incompatibility Message Screen

I don't know if this is relevant, but if you use a PAL copy of Space Invaders with a NTSC Super Game Boy, The screen does appear, you can't play the SNES portion of the game through a SGB. --Guru Larry (talk) 22:51, 7 November 2022 (UTC)
